BROOKFIELD, WI - A symphony level experience comes to Brookfield, Wisconsin's Brookfield Congregational Church and its Gary McWithey Concert Series who announced its 2026 Concert schedule today. The concerts are open to anyone in the community, and are a great way to experience high quality, symphony center level beautiful music, friendship, and fellowship close to home. Residents of southeastern Wisconsin and beyond are invited to participate in this wonderful music series to experience tremendous repertoire in a beautiful venue with a welcoming artistic and support team. "This year's concert series seeks to unite a variety of musical, cultural, and aesthetic experiences in an inviting venue and community atmosphere with the essential, universal communicator - music," said James Grzadzinski, Co-Director of Music and Concert Series Coordinator.
The concert series opens its second season on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 12:00pm with a concert featuring organ and vocal music with Grzadzinski as organist as well as soprano, Rachel Grzadzinski. The program features a variety of French and English song alongside German and French organ music as well as a special improvisation that will be created especially for this concert.
On Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 3:00pm, Mariachi Monarchas de Milwaukee will present a lively afternoon of Mariachi music celebrating Hispanic culture. Returning by popular demand on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 3:00pm is the Command Performance Big Band performing a dynamic program that celebrates Summer. As Summer continues, renowned Milwaukee-based Jazz guitarist Ben Dameron returns on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 3:00pm for a relaxing, captivating afternoon of music.
A highlight of the series occurs on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 7:00pm when Schola Chicago, a vocal octet, under the direction of James Grzadzinski and joined by internationally acclaimed organist, David Jonies, presents a concert entitled "A Choral Collage" featuring diverse repertoire from the Renaissance to today, with the pinnacle of the program being multiple movements of Maurice Duruflé's Requiem.
On Sunday, November 15, 2026 at 3:00pm, Milwaukee-based cellist Charlie Rasmussen will partner with Grzadzinski on a program of repertoire showcasing the beauty of Baroque and contemporary cello.
The Series concludes its second season on Sunday, December 20, 2026 at 12:00pm with Christmas Carol and Organ Music Festival and Wednesday, December 23, 2026 at 7:00pm with Christmas Eve EVE Jazz Vespers (directed by Milwaukee area musician and composer, Brian Packham).
No ticket purchase is required for these concerts. A freewill offering will benefit the Gary McWithey Concert Series and its growth.
