Briarcliff Congregational Church

Briarcliff Congregational Church No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, we welcome you here. We are blessed and enriched by all who enter our open door.

We the members of The Briarcliff Congregational Church declare our church to be Open and Affirming. Celebrating our diversity and believing that everyone is loved by God, we welcome people of all races, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, family structures, physical and mental abilities, faith backgrounds and economic circumstances into the full life of our m

inistry and church. Together we will continue to build a safe place and welcoming community for all who seek to love God, neighbor and self, as Jesus taught. SUNDAY SERVICE: 10:00 a.m. Nursery care for infants and toddlers is downstairs in the Stimpson Room in the church basement. Church School age children attend the service and leave for their classrooms after the Children's Message. Classrooms are across the street in the Parish Hall and arranged by grade levels from pre-school through high school. Join us this Sunday and see how our congregational tradition of believing in the collective power of our members makes our worship in the house of The Lord our strength. The children's message is sure to elicit smiles from all ages and our choir and hymns will enhance your understanding of the readings and sermon. And don't forget to admire the glorious stained glass windows, of which there are many. Some dress up for church and some dress casually. But do come....our door is always open. We look forward to greeting you with an extravagant welcome.....

Note: Both our buildings are handicap accessible.

Please take a look at the beauty of our West Transept Window that we visited in PA this past week to see the transformations taking place in its restoration. We will be welcoming this Tiffany window back in our sanctuary in October. What a joy that will be for us all.

Wednesday's just got Wordier!

Every Wednesday, a new word search puzzle (based on a text from the Bible) will launch from this address: https://tinyurl.com/bccweeklyword

You can save the address to your home screen and enjoy the challenge AND,
on Sunday, tune in or show up to BCC and hear a sermon based on the text. Feel smarter because you knew what the pastor was going to talk about before he did.

Let us know how you like it over a cup of coffee at Mid-Week Meetup, beginning September 16.

Today we're thinking about laughter. Laughing is healthy. Smiling is pretty good. too.
Why is that?

We've been thinking about what to keep our eyes on these days, instead of being overwhelmed by the chaos in the world. Here are some ways we can change our perspectives gain spiritual strength.

We've started to think about the Dog Days of Summer and then we found out that the dogs actually have some good advice about making those days easy and comfortable and slow-paced. Some good ideas here.

🙏🏾 God,

Keep reminding us that we are one human race, created in Your image. Destroy every root of racism in all branches of government, schools and churches.

Holy Spirit, let us educate hearts to embrace diversity and respect differences. Help us to teach our children and others to value every human being. Let us raise a generation that walks in love, truth and compassion.

God, restore the dignity of those who have been treated as less-than because of the color of their skin or the language they speak. Let our lives be a testimony of standing up for justice, love, and mercy. Amen
