Today we celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness at New Vernon Baptist Church
🎀 BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH: FAITH, HOPE, CURE 🎀
October is more than a month of pink ribbons; it is a time to honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, remember the angels we have lost, and stand beside every family whose life has been touched by breast cancer.
Behind every statistic is a mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend, or loved one whose story matters. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 321,910 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026, and approximately 42,140 women are expected to lose their lives to this disease. About 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. These numbers remind us why awareness, early detection, research, and access to treatment are so important.
💕 FAITH — Believe in the strength of those fighting this battle, the power of love, and the importance of standing together through every storm.
💕 HOPE — Encourage someone who is struggling, offer a shoulder to lean on, and remind every patient and survivor that they are never alone. Hope lives in every act of kindness, every medical breakthrough, and every new day.
💕 CURE — Support the research, education, and medical advancements that bring us closer to a future where breast cancer no longer takes the lives of those we love.

🌸 Spread awareness: Share reliable information and encourage others to learn about breast cancer.
🌸 Prioritize early detection: Encourage loved ones to speak with their healthcare providers about appropriate screenings, mammograms, and any unusual breast changes.
🌸 Support survivors and caregivers: Recognize that the journey continues long after treatment ends, and remember that caregivers need love and encouragement, too.
🌸 Be a voice for everyone affected: Remember that men can develop breast cancer, too, and that every person deserves awareness, compassion, and access to quality care.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let us do more than wear pink. Let us show up, speak out, give back, and lift one another up. May we continue to pray for strength, support those in the fight, celebrate every victory, and work toward a future filled with better treatments and a cure.
