MORNING PRAYER

Gracious and guiding God, thank you for the gift of this new morning. Like the psalmist, we pray, “Teach us, O Lord, the way of your statutes.” When we become confused or wander from your path, turn our hearts toward you. Remind us that a wrong turn is still useful when it teaches us the way back.

Lord, Ezekiel’s image of the corroded cooking pot warns us that sin left unattended can become deeply ingrained. Help us release the resentment, bitterness, and unhealthy habits that have stolen our peace. Give us the wisdom and the courage not to go back to the same place where we lost our smile. Lead us away from what wounded our spirits and toward the healing life you desire for us.

As St. Paul pleaded with the Corinthians to leave behind their quarreling, jealousy, anger, and division, help us examine our own hearts. Keep us from repeating patterns that have damaged our relationships and weakened our witness. Where we have taken a wrong turn, grant us humility to admit it, wisdom to learn from it, and faith to begin again.

Walk with those who are grieving, sick, lonely, anxious, or burdened today. Strengthen caregivers, comfort troubled families, and provide for all who are hungry or afraid. May our words bring encouragement, our actions show kindness, and our lives reflect the love of Christ.

Guide our steps, restore our joy, and lead us in the path that brings life. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

MORNING PRAYER

Gracious and merciful God, we awaken this Wednesday morning grateful for the gift of another day and for your presence that never leaves us.

Like the psalmist in Psalm 17, we come before you with honest hearts, asking you to hear our prayers and listen to our cries. When we feel surrounded by trouble, misunderstood by others, or uncertain about what lies ahead, hide us in the shadow of your wings. Keep our feet steady upon your path, guard us from words that wound, and help us seek the lasting joy that comes from seeing your face.

As Jeremiah teaches, keep us from placing our deepest trust in human strength alone. Do not let us become like a dry shrub struggling in a barren wilderness, cut off from the water it needs. Instead, make us like a tree planted beside a flowing stream, sending its roots deep into your grace. When the heat of adversity comes and the year is dry with worry, help us remain green with hope and fruitful in love because our confidence rests in you.

Lord Jesus, in Matthew’s Gospel you healed a man who could neither see nor speak, restoring what suffering had taken from him. Yet some who witnessed this miracle refused to recognize God’s goodness and accused you of working through evil. Heal whatever has blinded us to your presence and loosen our tongues so that we may speak words of faith, encouragement, and truth. Deliver us from divided hearts, for you taught that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.

Holy Spirit, unite our homes, our churches, our communities, and our nation. Forgive us when jealousy, bitterness, suspicion, or pride causes us to misjudge the good being done around us. Bless those who are grieving, sick, lonely, anxious, or carrying burdens too heavy to bear alone. Root us in your love, shelter us beneath your wings, and send us into this day with eyes that recognize your work and voices that proclaim your grace. In the name of Jesus Christ, our healer and hope, we pray. Amen.

MORNING PRAYER

Gracious and mighty God, we thank You for awakening us to the gift of this Tuesday. As Psalm 83 cries out when enemies surround God’s people, we also bring You the troubles that frighten and overwhelm us. Remind us that You alone are Most High over all the earth. Like the writer of Psalm 17, hear our prayer, guard us as the apple of Your eye, and hide us beneath the shadow of Your wings.

When Moses and Aaron confronted Pharaoh, the suffering of the Israelites became even greater. Remember everyone whose burdens have grown heavier—the sick, the grieving, the worried, the exhausted, and those treated unjustly. When we ask with Moses, “Why, Lord?” reassure us as You reassured him: You have heard the cries of Your people, You remember Your promises, and You will act.

When Nathan confronted David over his sin against Uriah, David confessed, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Give us that same honesty. Forgive the ways we have misused our words, neglected our neighbors, or placed our desires above the well-being of others. Send people like Nathan who love us enough to speak the truth, and give us humility to listen.

As Christ spoke to the faithful church in Philadelphia, thank You for setting before us an open door that no one can shut. Although our strength may sometimes feel small, help us remain faithful to Your word, endure patiently, and hold firmly to the faith we have received. Open doors today for us to encourage the discouraged, defend the mistreated, comfort the grieving, and share the love of Jesus.

Guide our steps, guard our hearts, and make our lives faithful witnesses to Your grace. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

MORNING PRAYER

Gracious God, Giver and Sustainer of life, we praise You for awakening us to a new Monday and for placing before us another day to love, serve, and bear witness to Your goodness.

Like Moses, we sometimes begin the day feeling inadequate, afraid, and uncertain of what to say or do. Yet You reminded Moses that You created the human mouth, promised to be with him, and provided Aaron to walk beside him. Teach us that we do not face our responsibilities alone; You supply the strength, wisdom, and companions we need.

Lord, forgive us when fear—especially the fear of death—keeps us from fully living. The fear of death can cause us to misunderstand the value of life, for life is precious not simply because it continues, but because each day offers another opportunity to love, forgive, encourage, and serve. Help us treasure our days without clinging anxiously to them, trusting that our lives and our eternity are held securely in Christ.

As Revelation calls the church in Sardis to awaken and strengthen what remains, awaken our faith this morning. Revive whatever has grown tired within us, strengthen the goodness that remains, and help us live as people whose names are known and remembered by You.

When evil appears powerful, teach us to pray with the psalmist and trust that You remain Lord over every threat. Let us not spend this day merely fearing what might happen, but faithfully using the life You have given us. May our words bring hope, our hands offer help, and our presence remind someone that they are not alone.

We entrust this Monday, our loved ones, our unfinished concerns, and the mystery of life and death into Your merciful hands. In the name of Jesus Christ, who conquered death and gives us life abundant, we pray. Amen.

EVENING PRAYER

Faithful God, as this evening settles around us, quiet our restless minds and calm our anxious hearts. Like Jeremiah, help us trust Your sustaining presence when life feels difficult; like the psalmist, lead us to walk in integrity and remain mindful of Your steadfast love. Teach us, as Paul wrote, to hold fast to what is good, to be patient in suffering, persistent in prayer, and willing to overcome evil with good.

Lord Jesus, You remind us that true life is found not by clinging tightly to control, but by surrendering ourselves to You. Forgive us for replaying conversations, imagining every possible problem, and carrying tomorrow’s burdens before tomorrow arrives. Overthinking will kill our peace, so tonight we choose to pray and leave our concerns with You, for You care about us.

Watch over our families, comfort those who are grieving, strengthen those who are ill, and protect all who work through the night. As we rest, renew our bodies, clear our minds, and assure us that nothing entrusted to Your hands is ever forgotten. Grant us peaceful sleep and awaken us ready to love sincerely, serve faithfully, and follow Christ courageously. Amen.
