🍺📖 BEER & BIBLES 📖🍺
Faith. Fellowship. Good Conversation. And Maybe a Cold One.
Something NEW is brewing at Asbury, and we couldn’t be more excited! We’re launching a new small-group Bible study called Beer & Bibles, led by Andy Erickson! The idea is simple: take the conversation beyond the walls of the church, gather around a table at a local Quad Cities establishment, open up God’s Word, and talk about how faith connects with real life.

Whether you’re already active in Bible study, haven’t opened a Bible in years, or are simply curious about what Christianity is all about, you’re invited. 🙌This is an opportunity to invite a friend, meet someone new, ask honest questions, dig into Scripture, and discover that meaningful conversations about how faith can happen anywhere 📖 The Bible doesn’t belong only inside the church. Sometimes ministry looks like gathering around a table. And sometimes the best conversations start with, “So…what do you think about this?”

Stay tuned for more details about the location, date, and time! In the meantime, if you’re interested in joining Beer & Bibles, let Andy know. We want to get a sense of how many people are interested so we can find a space that fits the group.

A big thank you to Jan Windmiller for snapping this photo of a praying mantis on one of the planters outside the main entrance. Now that's what we call a faithful greeter! 😊

A praying mantis at the church doors seems pretty fitting. While we can't say it came for the sermon, it did remind us that God's creation has a way of pointing us back to Him and that Asbury is always being lifted up in prayer, even by the smallest of God's creatures. 💚

AIM's Mission of the Month for September is to sign up for the QC CROP walk that takes place October 4th. If you want to walk, we will meet at the starting point which is the Caxton Building (1701 River Drive, Moline ,IL) Registration begins at 1pm and the walk begins at 2:15pm. The route goes across the I-74 bridge to Bettendorf and back to Moline.

The Africa solar water well project is complete!! Thanks to your donations that contributed to making this a reality.

• Innovation:Africa solar water well project complete!
• Location: Remote Chilimani Village in Malawi Africa
• People suffered from waterborne diseases
• 3,072 community members now have safe and clean water
• Construction trainee’s new skills will help with employment and project sustainability
• Thank you to everyone whose contribution helped transform this community!

Last Sunday we presented three-year-olds and third graders with their Bibles and then did a blessing of the backpacks with a special bag tag.  It was great to see so many kids at Asbury. Thank you Rebecca Erickson, Director of children's ministry for leading our kids to Jesus!

Sunday, September 6th will be Riley Swanson's first day at Asbury. There will be an informal meet and greet in the Connections Cafe from 9:30-10:30am. Come say hello! We can't wait for you to meet him. (Star Wars memorabilia optional)😁😉
