What difference should following Jesus make in the way we live?

Throughout Galatians, Paul reminds us that we are welcomed into God's family through grace, not by following the right rules or proving ourselves worthy. But belonging is only the beginning. Through the Holy Spirit, God's love begins to transform our hearts, shaping how we treat others, respond to conflict, and care for those around us.

This Sunday, we conclude our Called to Freedom series with Freedom for Love, exploring the fruit of the Spirit and what it means to live differently in a divided world. When justice, mercy, and forgiveness become difficult, how can our lives reflect the character of Christ?

What does it mean to truly belong in God's family? Is our relationship with God like being a guest in someone's home, always wondering whether we've overstayed our welcome? Or is it something much deeper?

This Sunday at Berwyn United Methodist Church, we continue our series, "Called to Freedom," with "You Belong." Drawing from Galatians 3:23–29 and 4:4–7, we'll explore how God's grace doesn't simply open the door to salvation—it makes us children and heirs. And through Jesus' story of the Prodigal Son, we'll discover that even when we wander away, God's love continues calling us home.

What happens when we start adding requirements to God’s grace? As we begin our series Called to Freedom, we explore Galatians 1:6–12 and 2:15–21 and Paul’s urgent response to those telling new believers that Christ was not enough. We’ll consider how Christians still turn belonging into something people must prove—and hear the good news that Christ crucified and risen is enough to save. Join Berwyn United Methodist Church for worship and Holy Communion as we come to Christ’s table, trusting that grace is a gift and our place is not something we earn.
