Music: It can touch our hearts, move our souls, enlighten our minds, and lift our spirits. Music can bring beauty to a place of horror; it can calm a sea of chaos; it can give direction to a wandering existence; it can bring life out of death. Music is a “fair and glorious gift of God,” and we will celebrate the splendid gift this week as we join together to sing some of YOUR requested hymns.

All voices are welcomed at 10:30 Sunday morning, with refreshments at 10:15.

Deliverance, restoration, renewal. ♥️

By salvation I mean, not barely (according to the vulgar notion) deliverance from hell, or going to heaven, but a present deliverance from sin, a restoration of the soul to its primitive health… the renewal of our souls after the image of God in righteousness and true holiness, in justice, mercy, and truth. ~ John Wesley(Farther Appeal to Men of Reason and Religion)

Inspiring words from John Wesley on how to help the grieving. 🩵

Weep with them that weep. If you can do no more, at least mix your tears with theirs; and give them healing words, such as may calm their minds, and mitigate their sorrows. But if you can, if you are able to give them actual assistance, let it not be wanting. Be as eyes to the blind, as feet to the lame, a husband to the widow, and a father to the fatherless. This will greatly tend to conciliate the affection, and to give a profitable pleasure, not only to those who are immediate objects of your compassion, but to others likewise that 'see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven'. ~ John Wesley (On Pleasing All Men)

Have you ever felt as if your efforts at goodness, love and peace are just too small to make any real difference in a world of violence, hatred and greed? Have you ever questioned the worth of doing something if you can't do everything? Have you ever felt like all you have are a few measley ounces to contribute in your attempts to balance the weighty scales of justice and equality?

If so, this Sunday we will hear a very encouraging and hopeful word from Jesus about how God has a way of using our seemingly small and insignificant acts of love and faithfulness in ways that go beyond anything we ever imagined!

Refreshments available at 10:15 and worship begins at 10:30. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

Fearless or foolhardy? Intrepid or insolent? Bold or brazen? The Canaanite woman with the suffering daughter who came to Jesus asking for help has been characterized by all these words over the centuries since Matthew recorded her story. This Sunday we’re using the adjective “audacious” to describe this outsider, whose words and actions teach us – and, very possibly, taught Jesus himself – about pushing boundaries and widening circles.

Join us for fellowship at 10:15 and worship at 10:30 as we learn more about “Jesus and the Audacious Woman.”
