Join us this Sunday for the second week of our teaching series, “Borderland”. Last Sunday we learned that you must be willing to take the first step of faith if you want to arrive at where God wants you to be.

Sometimes along life’s journey, we take some missteps that lead us away from God. When you look at the Israelites’ wilderness journey, you see it can happen. In fact, when Moses looked into the future, he saw something that would surely break his heart: Generations of Israelites who would ignore God’s commands and who would trade the living God for lifeless idols. He saw those who would drift away from the God who loved them to wander into exile. He saw their misery. And their failure. And he saw God’s mercy.

We've all known those today who will trade the joy of fellowship with God for a life of bitterness and isolation. You don’t have to make that trade.

The truth is that if you seek God, you will find Him. And when you’ve had enough of life without Him, you can return. Because He isn't willing to let you go. This week, we will discover “What Mercy Can Change”. Moses said in Deuteronomy 4:31, "For the LORD your God is a merciful God…" SDCC wants to encourage you to let His mercy write the next part of your story.

This Sunday at SDCC, we are beginning a new sermon series entitled “Borderland”. These studies, based out of the book of Deuteronomy, will be an invitation to move closer and to respond to the God who has already come near.

Over the next six weeks, we’ll explore what it means to truly abide in Christ, to remove the clutter that crowds Him out, and to rediscover the beauty of walking closely with Him in everyday life.

The first message which comes from Deuteronomy 4:9-23 is called “Watch Your Step.” Sunday School begins at 9:30am and Worship at 10:30am. We hope that you will join us each week!

Tomorrow at SDCC, we return to the “Flip/Flop!” sermon series at 10:30am. Jesus told us some truths that are, for some, kind of hard to fully understand. For instance, he tells us that the greatest way to gain is to give it all away. We might call this “The Upside-Down Math Of Generosity.” Join us as we share in worship & praise, share the Lord’s Supper in Communion, study God’s Word and experience the sweet fellowship that exists between Christians!
