THE DARKNESS CANNOT OVERCOME THE LIGHT. 🕯️
Halloween brings conversations about darkness, fear, death, and things unseen. But as Christians, we know that darkness is not the end of the story.
We live in a world that can feel heavy with brokenness, confusion, fear, and pain. Sometimes the darkness isn’t found in a costume or a haunted house. Sometimes it’s the anxiety we hide, the grief we carry, the sin we struggle against, or the loneliness no one else sees.
And yet, this is the world Jesus stepped into.
He didn’t come because the world was already bright. He came because we desperately needed the Light.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5 (ESV)
Jesus is the Light of the world. Through His death and resurrection, He has conquered sin and death, offering forgiveness and eternal life to everyone who puts their faith in Him.
Jesus doesn’t call us to live in fear of the darkness. He calls us to walk in His light, to love our neighbors, to reflect His goodness, and to remember the transforming power of His redeeming grace.
So today, whatever this season of life looks like for your family, may we remember that our calling is bigger than this one month. We are called to be people of the Light, not just in what we avoid, but in how we love, how we live, and how we point others to Jesus.
We don’t need to ignore the darkness or live in fear of it. We need to point people to the Light that darkness cannot overcome.
🕯️ May we be those people.
