The History of Buckingham Presbyterian Church In 1683, Rev. He organized congregations along the coasts of Maryland and Virginia.

Francis Makemie, of the Presbytery of Laggan, Ireland, came to the American colonies to minister with persons of the reformed Christian faith. Buckingham Presbyterian Church was one of those congregations. Makemie preached at the Inn on the Burley Plantation, present day Berlin. Buckingham has had five sanctuaries: The first on the Buckingham plantation, south of Berlin; the second and third on t

he site of the cemetery at the south end of town; and the fourth and fifth on the present site. For over three centuries, the congregation has witnessed to Christ as Lord and Savior and ministered to continuing generations of people.

Praying for our students, families, and educators as school begins again this week. We spent Sunday morning enjoying God’s creation and blessing the backpacks and backpack wearers. Each student received a flashlight with a card attached reminding them they are loved by God and Buckingham Church, let your light shine, love God, love others, shine bright and from Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world.”

Last Friday, G3 explored Saul’s jealousy toward David and how to handle their own feelings of jealousy. Kickball and snow comes ended a great morning!

Last night was G3’s final night of serving at Believe in Tomorrow this summer! What a joy it was to share in the Monday night BBQ and ensure that all kids and adults had fun with temporary tattoos, painting seashells, and playing so many games!

Last week G3 enjoyed their newly cleaned out space and played pairs Pictionary. Continuing with their study of Daniel, they learned about the importance of friendship using the Jonathan and David story. G3 continues to meet on Friday morning from 9-11am on 8/14 and 8/21!

G3 met last week and explored the story of David and Goliath! We used our slingshots to take down a giant.
Join us on Fridays from 9-11am as we continue with David’s story!

This week our youth traveled to Baltimore to serve at the Ronald McDonald House. We served 12 dozen eggs, 150 sausages, 11 pounds of bacon, countless pancakes, 4 watermelons, 4 pineapples, bunches and bunches of grapes, plus muffins, juice, milk, cereal, and dessert! We played with the children during Activity Hour! We also gave all the children a homemade pillowcase thanks to Sewing Seeds of Love. Thank you to everyone who helped the youth share God’s love with families facing challenging times!
The next day we celebrated by jumping, climbing, running, and having so much at Urban Air!
A huge thank you to everyone who donated food and supported us with your prayers!

Summer G3 continued their studying of young David’s story. Then they worked on pillowcases to take to Ronald McDonald House when we serve there next week!

Summer has been full of fun, learning, and caring for others at Buckingham! Twice so far this summer our youth have served at Believe In Tomorrow's Monday night BBQ. We hosted VBS with our friends from St. Paul's Episcopal Church-Berlin, Maryland and Stevenson United Methodist Church.
