🕯️ Advent Week 2: PEACE
In a world filled with anxiety, we need more than empty comfort — we need peace that passes understanding.

In this week’s Advent message, we looked at Isaiah 9, the angels’ song in Luke 2, and Jesus’ own words in John 14:27:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”

🌟 ADVENTure Week 1 — HOPE is live on the blog!

Advent isn’t just about counting down to Christmas — it’s about holding on to hope while we wait for the King to come again. This week’s post from Pastor Nathan Deisem explores how real, biblical hope anchors our hearts in uncertain times.

🚨 The Final Countdown has already begun.

This week’s message unpacks one of the most important (and misunderstood) end-times prophecies in the Bible: Daniel’s 70th Week — a 7-year period of tribulation, judgment, and redemption.

🕰️ What is it?
🧩 Where are we in God’s timeline?
🔥 And how should we live if the clock is already ticking?

Good friends/bad friends- At first Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite (I can't help but picture them as like dwarfs from the Lord of the Rings) did everything you would want friends to do when you have had a severe tragedy in your life. First they showed up. They seemingly immediately dropped what they were doing and went to Job. Second, they shared in the sorrow. They demonstrated serious "sympathy" with Job as if the tragedies had happened to them. Lastly, they just sat with him in silence- for 7 days. Sometimes it's not what you say its what you do. Almost always just being present brings a comfort that is difficult to explain. In fact just sharing in the sorrow and being present can sometimes be the only way to bring comfort. Where did Job's friends go wrong? It's when they started to pontificate their "wisdom" on matters beyond their understanding, that's when good friends go bad. Job's comforters, in their silence, quickly morphed into Job's offenders when they errantly insisted that the tragedies in Job's life were a result of unrepentant sin. Now we shouldn't conclude that unrepentant sin does not bring tragedy and heartache but we shouldn't assume that is the reason for all heartache in life either. It is profoundly evident in our day that the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer. The conclusions of Eliphaz, Bildad & Zophar are the same errant perspectives of health, wealth and prosperity heresy. I pray when events occur in life that I would remember the positive actions of Job and avoid the negative. I want to be a source of God's comfort to the hurting and not hear them say of my counsel- what a miserable comforter you are! (Job 16:2).

The Christian & Missionary Alliance has been discussing altering their Statement of Faith in regards to Premillennialism. See our latest post on our thoughts about this change.

My denomination (The Christian & Missionary Alliance) is considering a revision by way of deletion to its Doctrinal Statement of Faith. The revision entails removing the Premillennial position, which would allow those of other Millennial views to serve and hold positions of leadership in our denomin...

Today we honor the women who raised us. Whether they are the women who biologically bore us, or the women who voluntarily took on the responsibility of caring for us - we praise God for them. We pray strength, protection, and peace over these women. Today we join in with all the generations beyond hers to rise up and call her blessed.

May her love for us, and our love for her always point each other to Jesus.
