In this verse JESUS says "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33
JESUS never said we wouldn't have troubles but HE told us to have peace through HIM no matter what we face. HE also told us to be of good cheer because HE has overcome the world.
So instead of allowing what you are going through to rob you of your joy remember that JESUS is our source of peace, and no matter what we face HE is with us every step of the way, if we are covered by HIS blood. To many times when we are facing troubles, we can quickly be overcome with it all if we take our eyes off of JESUS. Or if we begin to allow our pride or our personal opinions to rule us instead of being surrendered to HOLY SPIRIT, we become troubled and cast down instead of being overcomers in CHRIST JESUS.
Are you covered by HIS Blood? If you are cheer up and continue to fix your eyes on HIM. If not what are you waiting for? JESUS is our only hope.

In this verse the writer of Hebrews writes "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25
When the Body of CHRIST gathers together to worship and praise the LORD, we encourage one another to keep pressing on. This verse tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as yet see the day approaching.
The Greek word for forsaking from Strongs # 1459 is enkataleipo, which means to leave behind in some place, (in a good sense)let remain over, or (in a bad sense)to desert: forsake or leave.
The Greek word for assembling from Strongs # 1997 is episynagoge which means a complete collection; especially a Christian meeting (for worship): assembling (gathering) together.
The Greek word for exhorting from Strongs # 3870 is parakaleo which means to call near, invite, invoke by importation or consolation, to beseech, call for, comfort, desire, interact and pray.
So the writer of Hebrews is instructing us to not leave behind, or to desert or forsake the gathering together for worship. So that we can be near, comfort and pray for one another. And we should be doing this more often as the end draws nearer.
Are you looking for reasons to forsake going to church, or is church your reason for forsaking things of this world?

In this verse GOD tells Samuel "But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
This is when Samuel went to the house of Jesse to anoint a king. And when he saw Eliab, he thought surely this is the one. But GOD told him not to on his outside appearance. Jesse brought seven of his sons before Samuel, but none of them was the right one.
Then Samuel asks Jesse are these all of your sons, and Jesse says well the youngest is out tending sheep. And when they brought him in the LORD said to Samuel arise and anoint him for this is he.
David's dad didn't even think about David being the anointed one, so he never brought him in from the fields watching the sheep to present him with the seven older sons. This kind of thinking is still going on today. People overlook others because they don't fit in the mold we think they should, so we immediately dismiss them.
GOD looks at the heart, for to long in the church culture in America, we have focused on the outward appearance of people and forgot about what or who they really are. GOD is not looking for people that dress alike and look alike, HE'S looking for people that have a heart for HIM, and a desire to reach the lost and make Disciples.
Are you guilty of overlooking people because of their appearance, and not allowing them to step into the role GOD has called them to do?

In this verse JESUS says "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your FATHER which is in Heaven." Matthew 5:16
JESUS CHRIST, is giving HIS sermon on the mount, in Matthew chapter five. In this verse HE tells us to let our light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your FATHER which is in Heaven.
Notice that HE didn't say make your light shine, HE said let your light shine. JESUS tells us in John 8:12 "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." HE is the light and we are to be a reflector allowing HIM to shine through us. Are you a reflection of JESUS CHRIST to those around you?
Also did you notice the reason HE said let your light shine? HE didn't tell us to let our light shine so we could make ourselves popular, or so people would gratify us. HE said so people would see our good works and glorify our FATHER, which is in Heaven.
Let your light shine, don't try and make your light shine. Just allow JESUS CHRIST to shine through you, and everything you do. Allow HIM to knock the dust and the dirt of this dark old world off of you, so you can be a reflection of HIM, pointing the lost souls to your Heavenly FATHER.
Remember it's not about us, it's all about HIM.
So let me ask you a question, who are you promoting? Are you promoting yourself, or are you promoting JESUS CHRIST to a lost and dying world?

In this verse John writes "For whatsoever is born of GOD overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." 1 John 5:4
John tells us that whatsoever is born of GOD overcomes the world. As followers of JESUS CHRIST we are born again, when we activate our faith and have the Blood of JESUS CHRIST applied to our life. Faith is us putting our trust in GOD. One of the ways I have heard it said is forsaking all I trust HIM.
John goes on to say faith is the victory that overcomes the world. JESUS tells us this in John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in ME ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Faith in the LORD brings us peace that cannot be explained.
There is an old hymn that says faith is the victory that overcomes the world. The name of the hymn is faith is the victory.
Encamped along the hills of light,
Ye Christian soldiers rise,
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies;
Against the foe in vales below
Let all our strength be hurled;
Faith is the victory, we know,
That overcomes the world.
Faith is the victory!
Faith is the victory!
O glorious victory,
That overcomes the world.
(2) His banner over us is love,
Our sword the Word of God;
We tread the road the saints before
With shouts of triumph trod.
By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath,
Swept on o’er every field;
The faith by which they conquered death
Is still our shining shield.
(3) On every hand the foe we find
Drawn up in dread array;
Let tents of ease be left behind,
And onward to the fray.
Salvation’s helmet on each head,
With truth all girt about,
The earth shall tremble ’neath our tread,
And echo with our shout.

(4) To him that overcomes the foe,
White raiment shall be giv’n;
Before the angels he shall know
His name confessed in heav’n;
Then onward from the hills of light,
Our hearts with love aflame,
We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night,
In Jesus’ conqu’ring name.
Have you found faith in JESUS CHRIST to be the victory in your life?

In this verse Mark writes "And HE arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." Mark 4:39
In this chapter of Mark we find JESUS teaching a great multitude of people and at the end of the day, HE tells HIS Disciples in verse 35 "Let us pass over unto the other side." As they begin to cross the sea, JESUS goes to sleep and a great storm rises up. The Disciples are fearful and awake JESUS and say to HIM Master cares THOU not that we perish? Then JESUS got up and rebuked the wind and told the sea "Peace,be still."
Remember that JESUS is fully GOD, and fully man. And this section of scripture reveals this to us. HE was tired and wore out from a long day of ministering to the needs of the people so being fully man HE slept. But when the Disciples were in fear and woke HIM up, HE being fully GOD spoke to the wind and sea and quieted the storm.
What storm are facing in your life today? Have you prayed and cried out to JESUS for guidance and help? Are you allowing HIS peace to keep you and calm the troubled seas of your life? If not what are you waiting for?

In this verse John says "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the FATHER is not in him." 1 John 2:15
With all the evil things going on in the world today, this verse is a good reminder of what we as Christians should be focused on.
Are you allowing things of this world to take your eyes off of GOD?
This verse says that if you love the world, or the things of the world the love of the FATHER is not in you. I have seen many people lately so worried about getting sick from the corna virus that they are allowing panic and fear to separate them from their faith in GOD.
I believe that the enemy (Satan) is causing these people to rely on things of this world instead of relying on GOD. As Christians we are to be in the world but not of the world, we are strangers just passing through.
But I believe too many have become complacent in following JESUS, and to comfortable in the things of the world, that they have allowed their love for GOD to be choked out by their desires of worldly things.
It's time for us to rekindle our love for the FATHER, and take our eyes off of the things of the world and fix them back on JESUS CHRIST.

In this verse Isaiah writes “Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:” Isaiah 26:4
This verse follows the verse we looked at yesterday that said “THOU wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on THEE: because he trusteth in THEE. Isaiah 26:3
Isaiah reminds us again to trust in the LORD for ever. When we we put our complete trust in the LORD we will find HIM to be our everlasting strength. No matter what we are facing, we will never face it alone if we stay surrendered to CHRIST JESUS.
If you look to this world for your hope you will be disappointed every time. But if you learn to fully trust and rely on CHRIST, you will find true peace and security.
Who or what is your trust in?

In this verse Isaiah writes “THOU wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on THEE: because he trusteth in THEE.” Isaiah 26:3
This verse contains a conditional promise, that requires two things from us. We must keep our mind stayed on CHRIST, and we must put our full trust in HIM. If we do this the LORD will keep us in perfect peace.
This perfect peace doesn't mean everything will always be great, or that we won't still have hardships. But that in the midst of everything going on around us, to us, or to those near us, CHRIST JESUS will give us peace that will and does calm us in the midst of the storm we are in.
Paul tells us this in Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of GOD, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through CHRIST JESUS.” The peace that comes to the Blood bought, born again, Bible believing follower of JESUS CHRIST is what sustains us, and encourages us to keep on keeping on.
The world offers chaos and confusion, but CHRIST JESUS offers peace. Paul tells us this in 1 Corinthians 14:30 “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
Have you found the perfect peace of GOD?
Are you in the middle of a storm that is threatening to turn you upside down? Give it to the LORD
Have you put your full trust in CHRIST, is your mind stayed on HIM?
