**SUNDAY MESSAGE RECAP | SEPTEMBER 6, 2026**
**OUR MONTH OF INCREASE**
*Psalm 115:14*

*“The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.” — Psalm 115:14*
This first Sunday of September, Apostle Evans opened our month of **Increase** by reminding us that the promise of increase also comes with responsibility. Psalm 115 first speaks about those who fear the Lord, both small and great, before declaring that the Lord will increase us more and more. Our position or status is not what moves God; we must continue to fear Him, honor Him, and keep Him first.
Psalm 115:16 says, *“The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.”* Apostle connected this with Genesis 1, where God gave man dominion and commanded him to be fruitful, multiply, replenish, and subdue the earth. We were not placed here to be passive. Prayer is necessary, but we must also take responsibility, gain knowledge, make wise decisions, work, build, create, and understand the times and the areas where God has placed us. Even people who do not serve God can apply principles, develop knowledge, recognize opportunities, and see results. As believers, we should not neglect these things while expecting prayer alone to do what God has given us responsibility to do.
At the same time, increase must never take the place of God. *“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”* Whatever God puts into our hands should have Kingdom purpose. Increase is not only for ourselves; it should enable us to make an impact, bless others, advance God's work, and establish something for the generation coming behind us.
One question Apostle kept bringing before us was, **What is in your hand that God can increase?** We may be asking God for something new while overlooking the gift, skill, idea, ability, opportunity, or small beginning He has already given us. *“A man's gift maketh room for him.”* We have to discover what God has placed within us, develop it, and recognize its potential. Apostle also reminded us that times are changing, knowledge is increasing, and industries are shifting. We should be learning, preparing, and thinking ahead rather than always arriving after the change has already happened.
This also concerns our children. Apostle challenged us not to think of legacy only in terms of how much money we leave behind, but also **how much wisdom we establish for the next generation to climb on.** Our children need godly principles, knowledge, understanding, and a foundation that prepares them to go further than we did.
In Exodus 23:29–30, God told Israel that He would give them the land *“little by little”* until they had increased enough to possess it. Apostle said repeatedly, **“The more you mature, the more I open.”** Sometimes what we call delay may also be a season in which our capacity is being developed. If we are praying for more territory, resources, influence, or opportunity, we also need to become capable of managing more. God was not denying Israel the land; they had to grow into the capacity to occupy it.
We saw the same principle in 2 Kings 4. The widow said she had nothing except a pot of oil, yet what she almost dismissed became the beginning of her answer. Elisha told her to gather empty vessels and *“borrow not a few.”* The oil continued to flow as long as there was another vessel to receive it. When there were no more vessels, the oil stopped. Apostle put it this way: **“The more you expand, the more grace comes. The more you expand, the more idea comes.”** The oil was there, but there had to be capacity to receive it. Eventually, what was in her hand became enough to pay her debt and provide for her household.
As we pray and fast this September, let us not only pray, **“Lord, increase me.”** Let us ask God to show us what He has already placed in our hands and give us wisdom to use it. Let us grow spiritually, remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit, develop our gifts, increase our knowledge, prepare for opportunities, enlarge our capacity, and keep the Kingdom of God first.
May the Lord increase us more and more. May He increase our children, the work of our hands, our ministries, businesses, wisdom, capacity, and impact. May every gift God has placed within us find expression, and may we have the maturity to occupy what He opens before us.
