This weekend, the men of First City Church explored what it means to live rooted in Christ. Reflecting on Moses' story, they discussed trusting in God's strength and taking the next step God calls them to take. Thanks to all who helped make this breakfast possible - including those who got up early to start grilling bacon outside!

"Someone who rightly relates to riches is calm, rather than anxious. Someone who rightly relates to riches is confident they are already rich because of how God cares for them. And someone who rightly relates to riches is charitable with what they have."

This is what seeking the power and presence of the Lord does in the life of an individual. Someone who is struggling, someone who is overwhelmed, someone who is feeling faint, stands strong. They are steady and secure.

This week, First City Students are spending four nights at Impact, serving throughout Bellevue and Omaha during the day and returning to camp each evening to grow in their faith and to enjoy time together.

They have served at nursing homes and food pantries, provided respite childcare for foster families, cleaned yards, and met practical needs throughout our community.

Through Psalm 23, they are also remembering that God is their Shepherd, the One who provides all they need, leads them, restores them, and remains with them.

Please pray that our students would grow in their trust in God and grow in their joy of serving others.

"We, like David, need to be reminded of the Lord's promises and power and victories in the past because we so easily forget and have a harder time trusting him in the present. We have spiritual amnesia. We need to be told and retold the stories of how God faithfully saved his people generation after generation. We need to be told stories of how the Lord delivered his people and how the Lord was and is the strength of his people."

We, like David, need to be reminded of the Lord's promises and powe...
