Our Children’s Church celebrated Sunday attendances with a Saturday blue sky and sparkling water pool and pizza party! We’re not sure who had more fun - the kids or Pastor Richard. ☀️ 🏊 🍕

Carter and Mason Bernard are proud of the cardboard windshields they made at Children’s Church today, after Teacher Dana Nelson taught them about Creation. Mason and Carter’s mom is Jayla, who grew up in our church. At OTPC, we treasure our youngest congregants - they are the life of our church.

Our Memorial Weekend worship service was filled with warm welcomes and gratitude. Judy and Andy Sawyer were recognized as new OTPC members as friends Bim and Don Estapa looked on. In addition to a musical Armed Forces Medley to honor the fallen, our OTPC veterans were recognized for their service.

May 10, 2026 Worship was especially meaningful. In addition to recognition of the mothers in our congregation and our Ruling Elders, who wore rose boutonnières, Pastor Richard thanked Greg Poindexter, Steve Stovall, and Jimmy Ishee for the donation of their time and energy in having two handrails installed in our chancel. The beautiful addition was made possible by the memorial fund for our beloved Miss Helen Blaney and church funds. The handrails’ design matches that of chancel components previously created by OTPC member Billy Power. The traditions of giving and remembrance by our congregation continue to be integral characteristics of OTPC.

God of Life, Change and Love, bless us with the vision of Jesus for a world that allows all people to thrive. May we be a part of the change to make that vision a reality through the grace and power of your Holy Spirit.

Our Presbyterian Women worshiped together for the last time of the 25-26 year today. In addition to doing a deep dive into Luke 24:13-35 (the journey to Emmaus), the gals celebrated Faye Krouse, who prepares the monthly lessons and is the guiding force of PW’s lively and meaningful discussions, for her commitment and leadership to the women of our church….as well as adult Sunday School! (9 am each Sunday, prior to 10 am Worship.)

After the morning’s fellowship, a number of the ladies enjoyed lunch at Roberts’ Place Cafe, choosing deliciousness from a menu customized for the group by OTPC Choir Director Dorothy Roberts.

Following a summer break, the 26-27 PW year will begin at 10 am, Tuesday, September 8.

At worship this morning, Elder Chanda Parnell presented Jennifer Wright of Hope Haven with a $750 ‘Faithful Ones’ check. Hope Haven is the only CAC agency serving Hancock and Pearl River Counties and provides immediate intervention services to children and families affected by traumatic events. The organization specializes in providing forensic interviewing, family advocacy, counseling, child s*x abuse prevention, and direct support to families in need.

Thank you, OTPC Congregants, for your on-going support of the Faithful Ones offering!

Easter Worship today was lovely, made even more special by the attendance of former pastor and wife, the Reverend Ted Hannawalt and Betty. Reverend Hannawalt, prior to closing the service with a benediction, relayed several stories about OTPC in Katrina’s aftermath, ‘I witnessed a miracle every day.’ Unlike the rest of downtown Bay St Louis - which was flooded and leveled - the flood waters parted and went around our church. For weeks after, our beloved building was refuge to 50-200 people every night. 🙏 ❤️
