Living Hope Fellowship in Sherwood We would love for you to join us! We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. He is alive so hope is alive, no matter what life may throw your way.

We first began in 1998 as a college-based worship service called “The Ring,” meeting on Sunday nights at Parkview Baptist Church. As the ministry grew, it became clear that God was doing something unique with this group of young people. After several years of prayer, study of the word, and ministry to college students, in February of 2006 The Ring Community Church became a mission of Parkview Bapt

ist. The first ten years together brought us through some of the best and worst parts of life, morphing us into a family as the grace of Jesus empowered each and every step. In 2016, the name of the church was changed, hoping to more effectively communicate to the people of Baton Rouge exactly who we are and why we exist. As a fellowship of God’s children, we work together to bring the only hope of the world into the lives of those we engage each day. This hope is more than just wishful thinking or a positive attitude, but is real and tangible because our hope is a person: Jesus Christ. As Living Hope Fellowship we seek to live in the fullness of God’s grace and extend His invitation to everyone we meet, leading people to a more intimate relationship with God, for His glory. UPCOMING MEMBERSHIP CLASS - WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24th at 6:00pm

Maybe you have been coming around Living Hope for a bit and are interested in learning more about our church's story and how our church functions. Or maybe you have been attending on Sundays and even jumped into a community group and you already know you want to pursue membership and want "next steps." No matter where you are in your interest level with Living Hope, we would like to invite you to attend our next membership class.

The next membership class is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, June 24th. If you would like to attend, please let us know by emailing [email protected] so we can plan ahead.

THANK YOU CAMP LIVING HOPE VOLUNTEERS!!!

As we wrapped our final day of camp yesterday, there was a shared sense that THIS WAS THE BEST CAMP LIVING HOPE EVER! We welcomed over 120 kids onto our campus, including so many new friends from Gardere Community Christian School. We had around 90 volunteers (including a rockstar group made up of our youth group) teaching and serving so selflessly. And we spent five very full days learning about the great and mighty God of the universe who has a purpose and calling for each of our lives.

Planning for this year's Camp Living Hope started months ago and it took the efforts of over a hundred volunteers and their unique, God-given gifts. Major THANK YOUS go to our camp director Sarah Norman, our administrative extraordinaire Ashley Ballard, and our decor whizzes Jessica Caperton and Brandee Sandusky. And of course, it wouldn't be Camp Living Hope without our camp pastor Joe Bennett. For seven years, Joe has brought the energy, the laughs, and the ability to steer our kids towards the Gospel in fun and engaging ways. Please continue to pray that God will grow the seeds that were planted this week into lives of fruitfulness and obedience to the call Jesus has for every camper that was present.

This is the best week of the year at Living Hope year in and year out, and that is because of the incredible teams of volunteers God has blessed us with! Whether you cooked tater tots, edited Bible study curriculum, taped stars on walls, shared an intentional conversation with a camper or parent, or moved tables and chairs yesterday after camp was over, THANK YOU! We seriously could not pull off the beautiful week of Camp Living Hope without each of you!

CAMP LIVING HOPE 2026 — DAY 5

Our space cadets have reached the end of the week. For our final day, we explored concepts of living our lives on mission with Jesus, being a witness for Him wherever our feet take us. Our campers prayed for our friends serving as missionaries across the world. They decorated hexagons in crafts to take with them to remind them to share the truths they learned this week. And our youngest campers got to speak identity statements over themselves in the mirror. We wrapped our final day of Camp Living Hope by inviting our grown ups to worship the God who is JUST THAT GOOD with us in closing celebration and then join us for a delicious lunch!

It is our prayer that every camper is wrapping the week with something new. New seeds planted. New knowledge of who Jesus is. New understandings of their place and purpose in the Kingdom of God. And, God willing, new hearts and new life found in Jesus Christ.

Our youngest group of campers SHINE SO BRIGHT and are so full of joy and curiosity and childlike wonder. CAMP LIVING HOPE 2026 -- DAY 4

Day four is done, and we're thinking back on stories of rescue, moments of worship and praise, scripture, laughter, sincerity, and lots and lots of Jesus!

In crafts, we made galaxy jars with a single sequin in them to help remind us that in this vast galaxy that we live in with billions of other people, God still knows us, loves us, and wants us. In imagination expedition, our astronauts completed their training protocol and were rescued from a turbulent asteroid field and passed on that rescue when they helped find the lost, stranded astronaut! In games and improv both, our campers worked on teamwork skills. And in missions, our ambassadors talked about what it means to partner with God to make the Greater Baton Rouge area as it is in Heaven.

God has made this week AMAZING and we have ONE MORE DAY! See you tomorrow for our final day of Camp Living Hope!

Reminder: Tomorrow is FAMILY FRIDAY! Parents, you are invited to come and be a part of our Closing Celebration at 11:00am as we worship our King Jesus and wrap up our week together. Then everyone is welcome to enjoy jambalaya after the closing celebration.

CAMP LIVING HOPE 2026 -- DAY 3

Was today our best day yet?!? Maybe so!

Today, our space cadet campers spent the day learning about God's great rescue mission! We cannot solve the problem of sin. But thankfully, Jesus was sent to be our great rescuer and do what we couldn't! He lived a perfect, sinless life, died, and came back to life, putting an end to death and providing us a way back to God and eternal life for all those who put their faith in Him!

These truths were explored and reinforced today through Bible Study, reexamining our chaos creations in crafts, and lessons learned during rescue missions in imagination expedition and rec and games. Additionally, our Kingdom ambassadors acted out ways to be on mission in their friendships and we praised and sang to Jesus for being JUST THAT GOOD!

We are officially over halfway through Camp Living Hope! But don't worry! We've still got so much excitement planned for our final two days!

CAMP LIVING HOPE 2026 -- DAY TWO

We had another FANTASTIC day at Camp Living Hope today! We covered some heavy and sad topics (sin, darkness, brokenness) but also celebrated a God who still loves and delights in each one of us and who wants to be our rescuer!

In crafts, each camper made a beautiful creation and then was forced to paint over it with black paint, masking the beauty with darkness, just like what sin did to God's creation. In missions, our Kingdom ambassadors came up with action plans of how to bring the Kingdom of God near in each one of their homes. Our older campers worked on their listening skills in improv and our younger campers used their imaginations to play out chaotic and disordered scenarios (a quacking pig!?!?). And SO MUCH MORE happened. How can we ever top a day like today? Guess you'll have to come back tomorrow and find out!

CAMP LIVING HOPE 2026 -- DAY ONE

Today was a BLAST! And we're only getting started!

Today, our campers learned all about the invisible God who was made visible in Jesus. The God who is both powerful AND present with us, which makes Him MORE than worthy of our worship! We played MANY getting to know you games as we settled into our groups and new friendships this week. We made tie dye socks, letting our beautiful creation reflect a fraction of God's good creation. And learned about kingdoms and ambassadors.

We've got the joy of the Lord deep down inside of our souls and we can't hide it no more... we've gotta praise! See you tomorrow!
