Living Hope Fellowship in Sherwood

We would love for you to join us! We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. He is alive so hope is alive, no matter what life may throw your way.

We first began in 1998 as a college-based worship service called “The Ring,” meeting on Sunday nights at Parkview Baptist Church. As the ministry grew, it became clear that God was doing something unique with this group of young people. After several years of prayer, study of the word, and ministry to college students, in February of 2006 The Ring Community Church became a mission of Parkview Bapt

ist. The first ten years together brought us through some of the best and worst parts of life, morphing us into a family as the grace of Jesus empowered each and every step. In 2016, the name of the church was changed, hoping to more effectively communicate to the people of Baton Rouge exactly who we are and why we exist. As a fellowship of God’s children, we work together to bring the only hope of the world into the lives of those we engage each day. This hope is more than just wishful thinking or a positive attitude, but is real and tangible because our hope is a person: Jesus Christ. As Living Hope Fellowship we seek to live in the fullness of God’s grace and extend His invitation to everyone we meet, leading people to a more intimate relationship with God, for His glory. LUNCH FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS

Whether you’re from Baton Rouge or from across the globe, we’re so glad you’re in our city!

At Living Hope, we love college students. We started as a college ministry after all! So as you get settled into your semester, we would love to invite you to join us for Sunday worship at 10:30AM at our church campus at 1180 S. Flannery Rd. This Sunday, we are hosting a special lunch just for YOU after our worship service.

There are many reasons to find a church while you’re in college. Some people are leaving a strong community of faith and are looking for a place to continue to grow in Christ alongside other believers. Others simply have a curiosity about God in the Bible. And some are searching for Christ-centered community and hope during a season of hardship. Whatever the reason, it’s always worth it. There’s no other time in life like your college years, so take advantage of the opportunity to connect with a local body of believers. God will do immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine.

The Psalms Project -- New Family Discipleship Resource

Living Hope's own Allison Schoonmaker and her colleague Christine Varnado just published their second family discipleship resource! You may remember The Proverbs Project, a resource for younger children and their families. Now they have written The Psalms Project for the next age group. GENERATION TO GENERATION -- SIXTH ANNUAL LIVING HOPE TRIVIA NIGHT - Friday, August 21st at 6:30pm

Living Hope’s Sixth Annual Trivia Night is officially ONE WEEK AWAY! Communication about table assignments and teams will begin in a few days, so sign up now if you haven't!

Our trivia night has been one of our most anticipated annual events where we get to laugh and have fun together while raising money for our youth group. This year, the theme is "Generation to Generation -- From Baby Boomers to Gen Z." Each round will test your knowledge of pop culture, events, fads and trends, and other fun surprises from each generation, starting with Baby Boomers all the way through to Gen Z! The game is designed to be fun for trivia novices all the way up to know-it-alls, so no matter your level of trivial knowledge come and have a good time with your church family!

Because of the theme, this event is a good opportunity to partner with those from different generations than yourself that you have been getting to know on Wednesday nights at Summer Community Group. You can either register with a team by listing their names on the sign up (up to 7 people), or you can sign up as an individual and we will communicate your teamearly next week so you can coordinate on your table theme and costumes. Signing up solo or as a team are both great ways to participate!

** If you are registering as a team, pick a "team captain" and have them register only themselves and list the full team on the sign-up form**

This event functions as a fundraiser for our youth to help retroactively cover their camp expenses, so come ready to buy treats and tip your youth group wait staff. Childcare will be provided. MOVE UP DAY 2026

This Sunday was MOVE UP DAY! Our Kids Community Group welcomed new kids to the kindergarten group and said goodbye to the 6th graders as they were welcomed and celebrated by our Youth Group. This was all punctuated by a prayer time for every student in our congregation during the worship service.

It was a beautiful morning filled with reminders of how faithful God is and how much He is up to among us!

MOVE UP SUNDAY - For Incoming Kindergarteners and Sixth Graders
Sunday, August 9th @ 9:15am

This Sunday is Move Up Sunday! Move Up Sunday is the first day that upcoming Kindergartners will join the Kids Community Group and the upcoming 6th graders will join the Youth Community Group. If you have a child going into kindergarten or 6th grade, you should have already received some communication about this, whether by email or verbally, but if you have any questions, email [email protected] (for kids community group) and [email protected] (for youth).

We are so excited to celebrate this new stage of life with your kids!

Summer Community Groups - Faithfulness In Every Stage of Life
Week 4 — Adults 60 and Older — Tonight at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall

Our Community Group series “Faithfulness in Every Stage of Life” concludes tonight! Throughout the summer, we have been exploring what generational faithfulness looks like for children, teens, and all stages of adulthood who are following Jesus. Tonight, we will look specifically at what faithfulness looks like for the adults in our church who are 60 and older. We will hear from a panel of people in the young adult age group and then have table discussions centered around the panel and Bible teaching. The goal is for us to learn how to best support spiritual formation in every generation of the Living Hope family.

We will eat at 6:00pm and start the panel and discussion part of the night shortly after. Even if you haven’t made a single Wednesday yet, we hope to see you tonight!

A couple of details:
• Childcare is provided for kids aged birth through 5th grade (those starting 6th grade in the Fall are invited to stay in the Fellowship Hall). They will be in our nursery and preschool area where they will eat together and the older kids will have their own community group lesson each week.
• Physical sign ups will be available tonight for the first week of school events at Twin Oaks next week. For more info, check for an email sent yesterday.
