Youth Group & Parent Meeting – September 13
Join us for our Second Sunday Youth Group for 7th-12th graders on Sunday, September 13, from 4:00–6:00 PM in the Casual Worship Center! Youth will enjoy games, fellowship, and fun.
At the same time, Youth Parents are invited to a parent meeting in the Connection Café to connect, receive updates, and sign important forms for the upcoming year.

Labor Day Holiday
The Broadmoor Church Office and Campus will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. The office and campus will reopen at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, September 8.
If you have a pastoral emergency while the office is closed, please call 225-924-6269, ext. 1.

Confirmation Registration Now Open!
Confirmation is open to 6th graders and students in grades 7–12 who have not yet completed Confirmation. Registration is open through January 15.
As part of our fall/winter 2026 Confirmation experience, students will have opportunities to learn, grow in faith, and participate in special trips, including a visit to Unified Jewish Congregation on September 18 from 6:00–7:30 PM. We will meet in the Casual Worship Center Parking lot at 5pm and depart at 5:15pm. Parents are welcome to attend and meet the group there at 5:45pm. Church Movie Night: Toy Story 5 — TOMORROW!
It’s almost movie night! Join us tomorrow, Friday, August 28, in the Casual Worship Center for a fun family night featuring Toy Story 5!
Snack supper (Pizza) will be served at 5:30 PM, followed by popcorn and the movie will begin at 6:00 PM.
Bring the family, grab some popcorn, and get ready for a fun night at Broadmoor!

Our first event will be a Pool Party Kick-Off!
Sunday, August 9
4:00–6:00 PM – Manes Residence
Please RSVP to Alexa Harris at 225-405-1597 to receive the address and event details. All current 7th–12th graders are invited to join us for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and a great start to the year!

A Prayer for the New School Year

As a new school year begins, we lift up everyone starting a new season.

We pray for our students, that they would grow in wisdom, confidence, and kindness.

We pray for our teachers, faculty, administrators, and school staff—that God would give them strength, patience, and joy as they invest in the lives of others.

We pray for parents and guardians as they navigate new schedules, changing routines, and the many joys and challenges of another school year.

We pray for siblings, grandparents, caregivers, and every family member adjusting to new rhythms.

We especially pray for those facing something new, a new school, new classroom, new teacher, new friends, new job, new college, or a new adventure. May they find peace in knowing that God goes before them every step of the way.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Broadmoor United Methodist Church for an exciting Sunday full of worship, connection, and community!

New Sermon Series Begins: This Sunday, August 9

Join us for “You’ve Got a Friend in Me: The Gospel in Toy Story” as we explore the powerful lessons of friendship, faith, belonging, and God’s love found throughout the story and themes of Toy Story.

This Sunday also includes our Blessing of the Backpacks, where we’ll pray over our students, teachers, and school faculty as they begin a new school year.

Stop by the Connection Café from 9:30 AM–12:00 PM for a special Back-to-School Photo Booth and celebrate this exciting season with your Broadmoor family!
