Concert at UUMC: Clay Parker & Jodi James : Sunday, September 27 at 6 p.m.(doors open at 5:30 p.m.) in the UUMC Sanctuary.

Join us for an evening of live music featuring nationally touring folk-rock duo Clay Parker & Jodi James, with UUMC youth member and local musician Katie Love opening the show.

Clay Parker & Jodi James are known for their distinctive vocals and heartfelt songwriting, blending folk, rock, jazz, and country influences. Their most recent album, Your Very Own Dream, was released in 2024. Katie Love, a longtime UUMC member, released her debut album, Time for Moving On, in January 2026. She has quickly made a name for herself in the Baton Rouge music scene and recently performed in Austin and Houston. She is currently working on her second album with a full band.

This community concert is open to all! Fifty percent of proceeds will benefit Front Yard Bikes, a Baton Rouge nonprofit providing educational, recreational, and mentoring opportunities for children. Suggested donations are $20 for individuals, $50 for families, and $10 for students. Cash or online payments will be accepted at the event.

No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

After several years of faithful service to our congregation, Geoff Stemen will conclude his time as our organist. We are grateful for the wonderful music Geoff has provided at the organ and piano and for all he has contributed to our worship.

Geoff has accepted a faculty position at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, where he will begin an exciting new chapter teaching at the university level.

Congratulations, Geoff!

LSU Sunday is days away! Welcome back, LSU students. We’re excited to kick off a new semester with you and invite you to join us this Sunday, August 30, for LSU Sunday at University United Methodist Church. We’ll have a LSU-themed worship service at 8:30 a.m. & 11 a.m. , jambalaya plate lunch after the 11 a.m. service, and door prizes just for LSU students! Bring a friend, wear your LSU colors, and come celebrate the start of a new semester with us. Geaux Tigers! 💜💛

🚗 Coming to UUMC this weekend?

Starting Aug. 14-16 LSU Move-In Weekend means road closures, heavier traffic & limited parking around campus. Allow extra time and plan your route before heading to worship!

This will affect traffic around campus. Please note the following can change.

The following roads will be closed: Alaska Street at West Chimes, Aster Avenue at Highland Road, Canal Bridge, E. Parker Boulevard, Lakeshore Drive to South Stadium Drive, W. Lakeshore Drive, and W. Lakeshore Drive at the Miller Hall entrance. Contraflow traffic patterns will be in effect on Alaska Street behind the North, South, and West residence halls and from S. Stadium Drive to the Miller Hall entrance.

A permit will also be required to access Skip Bertman Drive during this time. Please plan accordingly and allow extra travel time when coming to and around campus.
