KCCBR English Service
Mission of KCCBR: Korean Central Church of Baton Rouge was organized to serve as a central part of evangelical missionaries to declare Jesus, the Savior and Lord to the people of Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. Every member of KCCBR is to prepare for Jesus the Lord’s second coming by being faithful witness. English Worship is an extension of KCCBR and therefore shares th
e vision and goals of the main church. The vision of KCCBR English Worship is to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus, edify believers, and to reach out to the greater community providing opportunities for the saints to witness to and serve the greater community of Baton Rouge and to provide a worship experience for non-Korean speaking members and visitors. The basic structure of the ministry will be centered around three population groups: youth, singles and adults. Youth: James Szolis will lead the ministry for the Youths. Tentatively, he will begin meeting with the Youths (6th through 12th grade) on Sundays at 1:15 p.m. He will provide an opportunity for the parents to become acquainted with him and his plans for the Youth Ministry. He desires to provide both formal bible study as well as informal fellowship opportunities. Singles: Pastor Patrick Cochran will be the main representative for the Singles an Adults Ministries in the English Worship. He will work to develop the English Singles Ministry. The Singles are currently meeting Sunday Afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Adults: Don Simmons, Sidney Saint and James Szolis and the Agape Cell Group will provide support for the adult members of English Worship Ministry. James and Jennifer Szolis will lead Sunday School for youth at 1:15 p.m. Community Outreach: English Ministry will provide opportunities to reach the community through both evangelism and service. Leadership plans to meet bi-monthly during lunch to touch base and discuss needs and prayer requests. Leadership will also meet weekly for prayer to lift up each other and the needs of the ministry. Preaching: Pastor Patrick Cochran will lead the service. The last Sunday in the month will be a combined service of both the Korean and English Ministries. There is a desire to see praise and worship play an important roll as it ushers in the presence of God. A ‘call to worship’ may be added at the beginning of the service. There is also a desire to have transitions between parts of the service (praise and worship, prayer, sermon, offering, closing) to be smooth, not to offend or extinguish the work of the Spirit, but to lead the congregation into the next part of the service. There is a desire to teach the congregation about the importance of worship and offering, not to be taken lightly, but with reverence. The service will end with The Lord’s Prayer. It is the desire of the English Ministry Team that the ministry thrive, grow, see God working in the lives of the saints, sharing His love and grace, and that the entire ministry will be in the perfect will of God. We desire to lift up the name of Jesus and see Him honored and glorified on this Earth with all reverence and fear of the Lord. We ask God for strength, wisdom and grace to be part of this opportunity. Above all we desire to serve and love God the Father, Jesus His Son our Savior, and be led by the Holy Spirit.
