Position Available: Nursery Director (Volunteer Position)
Parish Nursery Ministry – Sunday 9:30 AM Mass
Our parish is seeking a dependable and organized individual to serve as our Nursery Director. This is a light-responsibility, volunteer role focused on coordinating childcare during the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for our youngest parishioners.
Position Overview
The Nursery Director oversees the basic coordination of the parish nursery, primarily by organizing volunteers and maintaining essential supplies. This role does not require weekly on-site presence and is designed to be flexible.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate weekly nursery coverage for the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass
- Create and manage a volunteer schedule using SignUpGenius (sent at the beginning of the year and as needed)
- Communicate with volunteers and send reminders or requests when coverage is needed
- If no volunteer is available, notify families that the nursery will be closed for that Sunday.
- Ensure the nursery is stocked with basic supplies (e.g., diapers, snacks like Goldfish, wipes, etc.)
- Maintain a simple child registration form (minimal upkeep)
Support Provided
- A strong and consistent group of youth volunteers who regularly assist
- Established systems already in place (SignUp Genius, communication methods, registration form)
Time Commitment
- Minimal and flexible
- Weekly presence is not required
- Most coordination can be done remotely
Ideal Candidate
- Organized and reliable
- Comfortable with basic communication (email/text)
- Enjoys supporting families and young children in a parish setting

This is a volunteer position.
The nursery will only be open when volunteer coverage is available.
