us and we will contact you to meet and discuss how we can help. The purpose of BFF is to reach lives for Jesus Christ behind prison walls and to educate the community of the needs. Monthly outreaches and ministry events provide opportunities for men and women to serve in the local state prisons and support the families of the incarcerated.

You are such an incredible woman! You have stood beside countless people as they did the difficult and courageous work of rebuilding their lives after everything seemed to fall apart.

Donna, we are so grateful for the care and compassion you bring to our team and to every life you touch. The world is better because you are in it, and we are thankful we get even a little piece of the blessing called Donna.

Today we remember and honor the men and women who laid down their lives for this country.

Their sacrifice gave us freedoms we often take for granted, and we are deeply thankful for every family carrying both the pride and pain of that sacrifice today.

At Be Finally Free, we also recognize that many people left in the aftermath are fighting battles with trauma, addiction, homelessness, incarceration, grief, and hopelessness. Freedom is something many are still searching for every day.

This day is a reminder to love people well, stand beside one another, and never forget the power of sacrifice, service, and hope. We pray for the families carrying loss today and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

✨ Welcome Mariah — Lead Care Manager ✨

We are excited to welcome Mariah to the Be Finally Free team as one of our new Lead Care Manager's!

Mariah recently graduated from Bakersfield College with her Associate’s degree in Public Health Science while also being dually enrolled at CSUB. Through her resiliency and the support of the community around her, she has rebuilt her life, regained full custody of her 4 children, and learned the importance of perseverance, determination, and having a village during the difficult seasons of life.

Mariah shared that what inspired her to join BFF is the opportunity to give back, encourage others, and walk alongside people as they reclaim their lives with dignity and hope.

She is an incredible addition to the team, and we are so grateful to have her. Let’s make an impact together!

✨ Welcome Indica — Lead Care Manager ✨

We are excited to welcome Indica Alonzo to the Be Finally Free team as one of our new Lead Care Manager's!

Indica describes herself as “recovered by grace and guided by God.” She is a powerful woman full of determination who has overcome obstacle after obstacle with her eyes fixed on her goals. Keeping God at the center of her life has been the foundation of her healing and transformation, and she now dedicates herself to uplifting others and helping them find hope, purpose, and a new way forward.

Indica hopes to pursue her Drug and Alcohol Counseling certification through California State University, Bakersfield so she can continue being the change she wants to see in the world. Her long-term goal is to open a faith-based women’s recovery home where women can experience healing, restoration, and support.

We are so grateful to have Indica’s heart, passion, and strength pouring into the lives of our Be Finally Free members. Please help us give her a warm welcome to the BFF family!

✨ Welcome Rebecca — Lead Care Manager ✨

We are excited to welcome Rebecca Villalobos to the Be Finally Free team as one of our new Lead Care Manager's!

Rebecca’s life is a powerful testimony of redemption, healing, and God’s transforming grace. After struggling with addiction from a young age, she experienced incarceration, trauma, violence, and loss. During her time incarcerated, Rebecca encountered the love of Jesus Christ in a way that completely changed the course of her life.

Today, Rebecca walks in freedom and purpose. Because of her lived experience, she carries a deep passion for helping others find healing and recovery. She brings a level of understanding, relatability, and compassion that allows people to feel seen, heard, and believed in. Her heart is especially for those impacted by addiction and the prison system, showing others that healing is possible and that their story does not have to end where it began.

Rebecca will begin attending CSUB in August to pursue her Level 3 Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification. She wants others to know there is a way out, recovery is possible, and you can come back even stronger than before.

She shared that she never thought the bright future in front of her would be possible, but through Jesus Christ she has learned that all things truly can be made new. We are incredibly grateful to welcome Rebecca to the Be Finally Free family and look forward to the impact she will make serving our community!

Healing Hearts Mother's Day!

From the Soul Train line to the games, laughter, dancing, and unforgettable moments together — the women truly got DOWN! 🕺🏾💃🏽 We were blessed with the amazing Comedian Nazareth who had us cracking up the entire time and brought so much joy into the room!

More than anything, this day was about love, connection, healing, and celebrating the strength of mothers and women walking through every season of life together. Seeing everyone smiling, laughing, dancing, and supporting one another was such a gift.

Thank you to every volunteer, supporter, and person who helped make this event possible. Your kindness and heart helped create such a meaningful and memorable day.

We are so grateful for everyone who was part of this beautiful moment.
