Peter walked on the water while his focus remained on Christ, but the moment his attention shifted to the storm, fear took over.

The same is true for us. Our circumstances may feel overwhelming, but they are never greater than the authority of Christ.

Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is sovereign over the storm!

The storm may be over your head, but it is still under Christ’s feet.

In today’s message from Matthew 14, we were reminded that resistance does not always mean we are outside God’s will. The disciples were exactly where Jesus told them to be, yet the wind was against them. Jesus saw them straining, came to them in the darkest watch of the night, and walked over the very chaos they feared.

Peter discovered that the safest place was not inside the boat. It was with Jesus.

The same is true for us. Our money, plans, position, comfort, and sense of control can never provide the security that only Christ gives. Keep your eyes on Him, obey His call, and take the next step of faith.

Even when you begin to sink, cry out, “Lord, save me.” His hand is still strong enough to hold you.
