GARBAGE UPDATE from Jefferson Parish:

If conditions allow, River Birch will begin curbside collection tomorrow (Monday, Jan. 26) around 8 a.m. They may not be able to complete all of the routes by end of day, and those missed will be picked up on Thursday (Jan. 29).

GARBAGE UPDATE from City of Gretna:
If you live within the City of Gretna limits, Riverbirch has suspended garbage pickup for today, January 26th for City of Gretna. They will resume on Tuesday, January 27th with the following schedule:
•Tues, Jan 27 – Monday’s collection on the north side of the WB Expressway
•Wed, Jan 28 - Tuesday's collection on the south side of the WB Expressway
•Thurs, Jan 29 – All operation will resume as normal.

Reminder:
There will be no curbside garbage collection on Monday, January 19, 2026, for residents of Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

No make-up day is scheduled; the next pickup will be Thursday, January 22. All Parish drop-off sites and the landfill will also be closed but will resume normal operations on Tuesday, January 20.

Additionally, free recycling services by Glass Half Full will be available on Saturday, January 17, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Metairie and Marrero drop-sites, weather permitting.

🔔 Reminder:
🗑️ There will be no curbside garbage collection on Thursday, 1/01 (New Year's Day) for residents of Unincorporated JP and the Town of Jean Lafitte. No make-up day will be provided; the next collection is Monday, 1/05.
🛻 All Parish drop-off sites and the landfill will also be closed on New Year's Day, resuming normal operations on Friday, 1/02. For more information or to view the holiday schedule, visit the Solid Waste Services page, https://www.jeffparish.gov/1125/Solid-Waste-Services.
