Fraud doesn’t announce itself. It shows up disguised as a phone call from your grandchild, a text from your bank, a link that looks completely real.

This morning, our church family partnered with AARP, Austin Police Department, 911 and 311 to make sure our elders aren’t facing it alone.

“I thought I was pretty good at spotting scams, but today showed me how sophisticated fraud has become.”

That’s the thing. It’s not about being smart enough. It’s about being informed enough.

Whether you were in the room or not, this matters. Talk to the people you love. Ask the uncomfortable questions. Share what you learn.

Community isn’t just Sunday morning. It’s Monday through Saturday, too.

When was the last time you actually felt the ground under your feet?

Not rushing. Not performing. Just standing. Stable. Present. In Acts 24, the Apostle Paul stood before a governor who held his life in his hands. Falsely accused with no guarantee of walking out, he still stayed 10 toes down, refuting the charges, affirming his faith, and keeping a clear conscience.

Rev. Denise Pierce taught us that this is the posture of faith: feet flat, weight even, and standing firm against whatever is coming your way. As she reminded us, “Feel the floor. It is not moving.”

Some of us are so locked in on what the problem is doing to us, we can’t see what God is trying to do through us.

The pain is real. The pressure is real. But so is the purpose.
2 Corinthians 12 shows us a man, Paul who prayed three times for his struggle (thorn in his Flesh) to be removed, and God said no.

Not because God wasn’t listening, but because God was working.
