At Hope Presbyterian Church we invite all to worship God by providing opportunities for people of all ages, cultures and experiences to express their faith through preaching the Word, celebrating the Sacraments, prayer, and praising God with music and other arts. We believe being a Christian is more than just Sunday morning, it is a lifestyle. We provide financial and/or volunteer support to more than a dozen organizations providing critical services to our community. In addition, we also directly serve the community through English as a Second Language (ESL) classes each spring and fall.

Election Day is next Tuesday. Before then, we will gather to pray. Evensong on Sunday, November 1, at 7:00 pm is a service of psalms, scripture, and song. We won't tell you how to vote. We will pray for our neighbors, for those who serve in public office, for the people who count the ballots, and for the grace to love one another whatever the results. All are welcome at Hope Presbyterian Church.

Stewardship isn't only about money. First Peter says each of us has received a gift to use in serving one another, as stewards of God's varied grace (1 Peter 4:10). Time, skills, relationships, attention, and money are all grace, meant to move outward. Still, money is often the last place we let our faith reach. It's easier to volunteer an afternoon than to look at a bank statement and ask what it says about what we love.

Jesus said, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21). Our hearts tend to follow our giving. When we give to something, we start to care about it more. That's why giving is a spiritual practice. It forms us.

This week, ask yourself what someone would say you love if they looked at how you spend your time and money.

Jesus blesses the poor in spirit, the grieving, and the peacemakers, then trains them to stay awake, invest what they've been given, and meet him in neighbors who hurt. This series opens on All Saints Day with the Beatitudes, where we remember those who have died and ground ourselves in grace. We keep our lamps lit by preparing prayerful pledges and dedicating them with joy. We close by serving Christ the King among people who are hungry, sick, lonely, or locked away.
Each week we ask: Where is Christ at work around me, and what has God placed in my hands? Come to pray the Beatitudes, bring a thoughtful pledge, and choose one act of mercy that lasts beyond Sunday. Seek a watchful heart, a generous plan, and a faithful practice that carries Christ's welcome into the week.

One week from today, 10/30, we will be hosting our Fall Fest from 5PM-6PM! This free family event will have games, activities, face painting, and more! Bring your friends and family to meet your favorite Hope Children's Center teachers and have a little fall fun.

Because of you, more kids can worship comfortably at Hope. Sunday worship can be a lot: music, lights, crowds, sitting still. For some children and youth, especially those who are neurodivergent, it can be overwhelming. This year, sensory kits became available in our worship so young people can take part in ways that work for their bodies and brains. It's a simple resource that says something important: you belong here as you are.

Shared giving through Hope supplied the kits and supports the leaders who pay attention to the different ways people experience worship. Faith is taught through lessons, and it's also taught when a community clears the path so someone can come in. If you're looking for a church where your family can come as you are, we'd love to worship with you. 💛

On Sunday, November 1, at 7:00 pm, Hope Presbyterian Church will keep Evensong, an evening service of psalms, scripture, prayer, and choral music. Christians have prayed this way at the end of the day for centuries. Come and listen. Everyone is welcome.
