🔥Meet our Associate/Youth Pastors: 🔥
Pastors Josh and Megan Gordon!

Ministry has never been just something we do, it’s who we are. We both grew up in homes where our fathers faithfully served as deacons and worship leaders, so serving the Lord has always been apart of our lives.

Over the past 20 years, God has allowed us to serve in many different roles, including youth pastors, children’s pastors, lead pastors, college pastors, and worship pastors. Yet after every season, He has graciously led us back to the place we love most—youth ministry.

We are deeply passionate about discipleship. We don’t believe students are just the future of the Church—we believe they are called to serve the Kingdom right now. That’s why we encourage and equip them to actively serve in every area of ministry, from leading worship and preaching to praying for others and using their gifts to build the body of Christ.

Above everything else, our greatest desire is for every student to truly know Jesus, experience the fullness of His love, and develop a deep, genuine relationship with Him that transforms every part of their lives. So come let your teen be apart of what God is doing in Shift Youth!

You may ask: What’s so important about getting your teens plugged into a youth group?

The world is discipling our teenagers every single day. The question is: who or what is shaping their hearts?

A God-fearing youth group is more than a Wednesday night gathering. It’s a place where teenagers discover their identity in Christ, build life-giving friendships, and learn to stand firm on God’s Word in a world that constantly pulls them in every direction.

This generation doesn’t just need anymore entertainment, they need people who will believe in them, pray over them, challenge them, and remind them that God has a purpose for their lives. And we are blessed with Youth Pastors who do just THAT EVERY week!

When we invest in our youth, we’re not just impacting today—we’re raising the next generation of disciples, leaders, and world changers for the Kingdom of God.

The next generation isn’t the future of the Church, they ARE the church and it’s time that parents take that role seriously!

Yesterday, Pastor Cornelius brought a word on “searching.” He preached on the parable Jesus spoke about in Matthew. Jesus said the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field and a pearl of great price—worth giving up everything else to obtain.

The world offers many treasures to chase, but we were never created to find our fulfillment here. We can spend our lives searching for what this world has to offer and still come up empty.

The Kingdom is our prize. Our ultimate goal.

When we truly see its value, surrender no longer feels like loss, but gain. All other kingdoms will bow their knee to the One True God, to the Kingdom of Heaven.
It’s time to get rooted in a kingdom that is unshakable:

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field…” — Matthew 13:44-46

Today we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America — 250 years since courageous men signed a declaration that changed history and proclaimed that freedom was worth fighting for.

For two and a half centuries, America has faced wars, hardships, triumphs, and challenges, yet the ideals of liberty, opportunity, and self-government have endured.

As we honor those who came before us, we also accept the responsibility to carry these freedoms forward for future generations. May we continue striving to build a nation that reflects the promise of those enduring words: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Happy 250th Birthday, America. May God bless our nation, and may the torch of freedom continue to shine brightly for generations to come.🇺🇸

Here’s a devotion for your Friday morning!

Psalm 37:3-5 is a popular verse. Mainly the part that says “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” I believe we as believers sometimes take that verse out of context. We tend to pray for the desires of our hearts, but fail to obey the rest of the passage.

This passage begins and ends with the same command: Trust in the Lord. Everything in the bible is there for a reason. Trust is the foundation of every promise God gives us.

Notice that before God speaks about giving us the desires of our hearts, He first gives us responsibilities of our own:
We are called to trust in Him, do good, befriend faithfulness, delight ourselves in the Lord, and commit our ways to Him. These are not suggestions; they are the stepping stones to obedience.

Too often we focus on the promise while overlooking the process. God is not asking for perfection, but He is asking for surrender and obedience. We must trust Him enough to follow Him, delight in Him enough to desire what He desires, and commit our ways fully to Him, He begins shaping our hearts and aligning our desires with His will.

The passage starts with trust and ends with trust because trust is both the first step and the final resting place of faith. You can’t trust someone you don’t know or someone you never spend time with.
Obedience comes first, and the desires of our hearts follow. Because he is a good God and he is a good father who cares about his children.
