OUR BELIEFS
WE BELIEVE SCRIPTURE IS THE WORD OF GOD
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God. – (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21)
WE BELIEVE THERE IS ONE TRIUNE GOD
We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. – (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30)
WE BELIEVE IN JESUS
CHRIST’S SACRIFICE, RESURRECTION, AND TRIUMPHANT RETURN FOR US
We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34-35), His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11), His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9), His resurrection (John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:4), His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19), His personal return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16)
WE BELIEVE MANKIND IS INHERENTLY SINFUL AND IS SAVED ONLY BY JESUS’ SACRIFICE AND GOD’S GRACE
We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace through faith alone are we saved. baptism, taking communion, etc.), but rather we do these things (outward signs) because we are already saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. – (John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5; 2 Peter 1:5-11)
WE BELIEVE THE SOUL IS ETERNAL AND LIVES ETERNALLY WITH GOD OR DIES ETERNALLY WITHOUT GOD
We believe that those who are saved will spend an eternity with God in Heaven, and those who reject Christ will spend an eternity in torment separated from God in Hell. – (John 5:28-29)
WE BELIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD IN EACH AND EVERY BELIEVER
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, Who gifts us to accomplish Christ’s purposes in the world and Who manifests His presence to the world through Christ’s church. – (Romans 8:13-14; Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; 1 Corinthians 12; 1 Corinthians 14; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18)
WE BELIEVE IN THE CHURCH MODEL DESCRIBED IN THE BOOK OF ACTS
We believe that believers are a family and are called to meet together to encourage and strengthen one another in love; to worship God together, and to serve together. Fellowshipping may express itself in many ways, including New Testament home churches, Bible study groups, and organized congregations. We all serve an equal purpose as expressions of the Body of Christ on earth, in the location God has planted us, to bring light to the darkness. Through our words and actions, as result of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling, our lives will express love and kindness. It is this (agape) love that we desire to possess and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians – (Hebrews 10:23-25; 1 Corinthians 14:26; 1 Thessalonians 5:11; 1 John 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 13:1-13)
WE BELIEVE OUR PRIMARY, AND ONLY, MISSION IS THE MISSION OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and His mission and function for the church to lead those who don’t know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to Him unto salvation. Denominations, ministries, and visions are all legitimate parts of the carrying out of the mission of our Lord but should never be placed above His mission and His call to be united in Him as Christians. – (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28)
