Save The Date

The Retirement Celebration of our Pastor of 53+ years at AHCC and 58+ years of pastoral ministry in total will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 6:00 - 9:00 pm in Rockville, MD 20853.

The celebration is open to all members and friends of AHCC or Dr. & Mrs. Chance. If you would like to attend or receive an invitation, please email Cyndi at our church office at [email protected] or call the church office at 301-871-7222.

You will need you to RSVP to the office as soon as possible to get further information or reserve a place at the celebration.

If you cannot attend but would like to send a personal note or greeting for Dr. Chance send it to Aspen Hill Christian Church, 13501 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906. Questions can be addressed to Cyndi either via phone during office hours or email to the office email address above.

Never ending excitement at AHCC. Apparently, people living under the bridge on Ga Ave. started a fire this afternoon. Irony is I suspected something going on recently and the lead officer remembered me and we had a nice talk.

Congratulations to our graduates for 2026. We had a beautiful Graduates Sunday last Sunday and had the Fellowship Period in their honor. Each graduate received a nice key chain with a Graduates Cap and 2026 written on it and a scripture on the back. They also received a personal card from the church and the bulletin with their names on it. It was a great celebration as we wish our graduates well on the page in their book of life.

This Sunday is Pentecost, the birthday of the church and celebrating the coming of the Holy Spirit. Come and share in the joy.

John Charles Capellman, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, passed away on May 9, 2026, at the age of 84. John, Phyllis and their three lovely children were an active and faithful part of Aspen Hill for many years.

After moving out of the area the Capellmans have lived in Charlestown W.Va. for many years. May God bless them as they face the loss of John.

It’s wonderful to hear from Chantrol. So proud of all our church has done over the years. The Hansons deserve the recognition as they led the effort.

I’m happy to receive your email. I have never forgotten all the help you, AHCC, the church, the community that came together to help my family settled in Maryland. I was the only bread earner at that time supporting 10 members of my family. Thank you for giving them clothes, furnitures, and the support for them to start their new life in the US. They came to the US with only the clothes on their back. Now, they are doing ok for themselves. I’m proud of them. Also, I never forget my own journey to the US with $50 to start a new life as student.

I hope everyone received my email yesterday with a few photos.
