March 19th is UMCOR Sunday!

UMCOR Sunday is two weeks from today! For over 80 years, UMCOR has provided hope and healing for people and communities devastated by natural and human-made disasters.

Our 2023 Special Sunday Kit provides the resources you need, such as a How-to Guide and a planning calendar: https://www.resourceumc.org/en/churchwide/umcgiving/special-sundays/umcor-sunday-pastor-and-leader-kit

Together, let's continue to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Your support on UMCOR Sunday means that 100% of other UMCOR donations can go directly toward helping people who are suffering.

This Lent, won't you follow the Spirit into the wilderness of your heart, the places you have not tread for years? Will you make yourself available to be seen and heard? Will you dig up past trauma and unresolved shame? Will you confront your assumptions of yourself and others, as well? Will you leave the comfort of your well worn garden paths of happy memories? Will you let God bring you more fully into the light, where secrets are dispelled and life can be embraced?

“Christ in the Wilderness”

“As I have read the Gospels over the years, the belief has grown in me that Christ did not come to found an organized religion but came instead to found an unorganized one. He seems to have come to carry religion out of the temples into the fields and sheep pastures, onto the roadsides and the banks of the rivers, into the houses of sinners and publicans, into the town and the wilderness, toward the membership of all that is here. Well, you can read and see what you think.”
