Our Unity Community was profoundly inspired by our honored guest speaker Marianne Williamson this morning! She lit the fire of hope and activism in each of us and challenged us to step up our spiritual practices as well as our activities to more fully participate in and shape our democracy. Dear friends, we will be having a Memorial service for beloved Jean Houston at the Havurah, 185 N. Mountain Ave, Saturday, May 30th, 2:30 pm to 4 pm. Jean spent her life reminding people of the greatness within them. That gift did not end with her passing. It continues through all those she touched, and there are so many! Please join us to honor her life through stories, prayers, songs, and fellowship. ✨💖✨

Dear friends, It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our beloved Jean Houston made her transition from the mortal form. Jean peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 16th at 1:30 pm, surrounded by loved ones, in her home. Jean had become a dear friend of Unity Community of Ashland, regularly attending services and speaking for our congregation numerous times. She was so dearly loved by everyone, and touched our hearts so very deeply. How blessed we have been to have her with us! We know she is merged into infinite light and infinite love and exploring new dimensions and we wish her godspeed! Thank you beloved Jean, for the immeasurable blessings you have bestowed upon us all! We love you!!! 🙏✨💖✨🕊️

We are so excited to be welcoming Dr. Drew Dellinger to Unity Community this Sunday! Drew is an internationally recognized poet, speaker, teacher, and author known for his work on cosmology, justice, and ecology. He is a fascinating man who weaves together poetry, cosmology, social justice, creativity, and a mystical and visionary view of the universe to bring fresh insights and inspiration! Drew will be speaking to us on "Interconnectedness, Cosmology, and The Spirit of Democracy" for our 11 am service. We have some truly beautiful and inspiring music presented by Rev. Kathy Zavada, Lark Lovejoy and Jim Sitter.

Here's a bit of what Dr. Dellinger shared in an interview with Post Carbon Institute: "There’s no aspect of our lives in which creativity is not essential, and whether that’s social change, politics, economics, technology, the arts, education, medicine – all of these things depend on creativity and imagination. Again I’ve already said this, but what we’re seeking is experiences of communication, compassion, creativity, connection, and celebration. When we realize that we could trade in the false ecstasies of consumerism and capitalism for the true delights of celebration, community, connection and creativity, we’re going to find ourselves strongly pulled by that future vision."

We have a wonderful guest speaker at UCOA this Sunday, Frances Oyung, the director of KSWild and RogueRiverkeepers, to celebrate and educate us in honoring Earth Day. For me, earth day is every day, as I receive profound blessing, teaching, and peace from the forest, the rivers, the flowers, the rain; from all the incredible beauty and blessing of nature on this beautiful planet. And so why celebrate Earth Day on a specific day, this year on April 22nd?
Earth Day is important because it serves as the world's largest annual, non-religious observance dedicated to environmental protection, engaging over 190 countries in action against climate change and pollution. It raises awareness of ecological issues, drives environmental policy, and encourages global participation in preserving natural resources for future generations. It drives governments and corporations to commit to sustainability.
We must 'invest in our planet', in nature, biodiversity, parks and forests, preservation of sacred land, clean water and air! We will explore how we do this in our own community, this Sunday at Unity Community of Ashland.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming Drew Dellinger to speak and offer a workshop at Unity Community of April 26th! He will speak on "Interconnectedness, Cosmology and The Spirit of Democracy". Drew Dellinger, Phd is a writer, speaker, poet and teacher who's writings have appeared in the New York Times, The Atlantic, and many other publications. He is author to the award winning publication "Love Letter To The Milkyway". He will speak to us on how we can move past a worldview and politics of discord and division, and towards a society based in ecology, justice and compassion. Drew will offer a workshop after service from 1 to 2:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

The wonderful cellist Daniel Sperry will be joining Rev. Kathy Zavada for some very special music. Lark Lovejoy will add soaring soprano harmonies in a co-creation of truly heavenly song. We know that Love is the great resurrecting FORCE, and it is a choice in every moment.
