Last week, three members of our Life 107 leadership team accepted an invitation to travel to northern Panama to partner with Manos de Fe, an NGO in the town of Caisán. Vulnerable children and youth were the impetus for this journey, and we found ourselves immersed in their laughter, curiosity, wonder, and their amazement of us traveling so far to protect them. The students at the schools received gifts, made crafts, played games, and learned about familial trafficking from a skit our team performed about Joseph and his brothers recorded in Genesis chapter 37. The teachers were trained to implement a curriculum for youth on anti-gender-based violence, a root cause of trafficking, and they also received tip sheets that list the common signs to look for in their students who may be experiencing abuse, exploitation, or trafficking. Please join us in praying that our efforts bear fruit in rescuing vulnerable children who may be suffering and in preventing others from being victimized.
More on our journey to the hidden regions of Panama to come! If you have a passion to reach unnoticed children in hard-to-reach places, partner with us by donating here: https://life107.org/donate/. Or contact us at [email protected].
