On Palm Sunday, two parades entered Jerusalem. 🌿

On one side, Pontius Pilate marched with a Roman legion—warhorses, heavy armor, and a display of imperial might designed to instill fear.

On the other side, Jesus entered on a donkey.

It was a radical "counter-parade." By choosing a donkey over a warhorse, Jesus made a deliberate statement: He was the Prince of Peace, not a military conqueror.

Join us for our Palm Sunday service tomorrow at 11:00am.

The crowds on the first Palm Sunday weren't just cheering; they were expecting. They expected a king to fix their politics, their economy, and their problems overnight.

Sometimes we do the same. We show up with big expectations for God, for our community, or for ourselves—only to realize the path ahead looks nothing like we imagined.

As we enter Holy Week at Acton UMC, we’re leaning into the tension between our expectations and the reality of the journey.
