Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry has issued his second in a series of monthly messages that continue through the end of this year, titled “All Together in One Place."

The FELC staff would like to express their gratitude to Deni Kuchler, as she concludes her time on FELC staff this week. Please join us in wishing her well as she takes on a new role in the Kimberly Area School District.

To celebrate her, First English will host a celebratory coffee hour at the North Site on Sunday, June 28.

While Deni will no longer be serving on staff, she and her family will continue to be familiar and welcoming faces at the North Site.

⚠️ NOTICE: Special Meeting of the Congregation - Sunday, June 28, at the North Site

At the April Congregation Council meeting, the council approved the recommendation of the Finance Committee to refinance the church mortgage and renew the congregation's operating and capital lines of credit with Fox Communities Credit Union. Our current mortgage was a five-year note, which the congregation approved refinancing of in May 2021 with Fox Communities Credit Union. To complete these new financial transactions, the FELC constitution requires congregational approval. With this in mind, a Special Meeting of the Congregation is being called.

When: Sunday, June 28
Where: FELC North Site (6331 N. Ballard Rd., Appleton, WI 54913)
Time: 10:15 a.m. (after the 9 a.m. worship service)

Please make plans to attend this very important meeting of First English Lutheran Church.

A PRAYER FOR JUNETEENTH

God of freedom and justice,

We give thanks for the day when news of emancipation reached the last enslaved people in our nation.

We remember their resilience, their faith, and the generations who followed—bearing burdens no one should have to carry.

Forgive us for the ways we have been complicit in racism, silent in the face of injustice, or slow to respond to your call for equity and truth.

Stir in us a holy restlessness
to pursue your vision of beloved community—
where all are welcomed, valued, and free.

Bless those who continue the work of justice and reconciliation, and strengthen your church to be a witness to your liberating grace.

In the name of Jesus, who sets us free,
Amen.
