Another ramp done! Our ramp men were hard at work today installing an inclined road instead of a metal ramp. There was not room to install a traditional ramp, so our men improvised and built a gravel embankment where the concrete steps used to be that ran from the back door to the driveway. The gravel (actually crush and run) was compacted and access for a wheel chair was achieved. The residents were thrilled since they had been trying to roll the occupied wheelchair up or down the concrete steps. This way will be much safer. Thanks to the Town of Big Stone Gap for the load of gravel delivered right to the back door. Kudos to the driver, who easily negotiated the tight twists and turns. And thanks to God for providing everything and everyone needed.

UPDATE ,RAIN DELAY ,PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE AND LET EVERYONE KNOW.
The Town of Appalachia will be having the fishing derby on June 13. Bring all of our kids out. This section of stream will be closed during the event so if any adults wants to fish they will need to go below or above the event space. Game wardens will be on hand and hopefully do some demonstrations. Thanks for all everyone does to make this happen!

Our ramp men were at it again! They set up a ramp today for a woman who is wheel-chair bound and had to rely on neighbors/friends just to get out of her home. Thanks to Bobby, Roger, Zack, Jim, Mike D. and Mike H. for donating their time and labor to help someone in need.

We were so excited to be back together Sunday! Most of us had determined that we were going to be there no matter what! God was gracious to provide better weather and we so enjoyed our fellowship.
This Sunday is Hearth Warming Sunday. We will be taking a special offering for the Mountain Empire Older Citizen’s fuel fund. This fund provides help with electric and gas bills to keep our senior citizens warm in these frigid temperatures. Please give generously, it has been a harsh winter so far. If you don’t give through our church, you can give directly to MEOC at https://meoc.org/donate. And if you are an older citizen who needs help, please contact MEOC at 276-523-4202.
