Due to the rain and wet weather conditions, Fireside Fellowship is cancelled this evening.

We pray you enjoy a cozy evening at home, spend time with family, and take a moment to rest in the Lord’s presence.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

We look forward to gathering together again soon in Jesus name🙌🎶

REPENTANCE: THE DOOR TO FREEDOM

This Sunday at Riverview Church, we were reminded of a truth many people avoid but every believer needs:

You cannot walk fully with Jesus while holding onto the very things He died to set you free from.

Repentance is not punishment.
Repentance is not shame.
Repentance is not God pushing you away.

Repentance is God’s invitation to come home.

When we repent, we stop making excuses, stop blaming others, and surrender every area of our lives to Christ. Real transformation begins when we agree with God and allow Him to change us from the inside out.

The world says, “Follow your heart.”
Jesus says, “Follow Me.”

The world says, “Live your truth.”
Jesus says, “I am the Truth.”

The world says, “Do what feels right.”
Jesus says, “Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.”

Freedom is found on the other side of surrender.

“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” — Acts 3:19

We are praying for hearts to be softened, chains to be broken, and lives to be transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. ⛓️‍💥

What a beautiful Sunday together at Riverview Church!

There is something special about gathering as the body of Christ—worshiping together, opening God’s Word, praying for one another, and being reminded that we were never meant to walk this journey alone.

This week, we were encouraged to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, trusting Him not only in the mountaintop moments but also in the everyday challenges of life. His faithfulness never changes, and His presence goes with us wherever we go.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Whether you’ve been attending for years or this was your first visit, we’re grateful you were with us.

As you step into this new week, remember: God is still working, still speaking, and still leading. Keep pressing forward in faith. ✝️

What was your biggest takeaway from Sunday’s service?

We’d love to hear in the comments

What a wonderful afternoon of fellowship, food, and community at our monthly Pot luck gathering this past Sunday!

We are so grateful for everyone who brought a dish, shared a conversation, lent a helping hand, and made the day so memorable.

Thank you to our church family for continuing to create a place where people are welcomed, loved, and encouraged. We truly are better together!

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” – Psalm 133:1

“Man, I’m just trying to provide for my family.”
“I’m just trying to get ahead.”
“I’m still serving God.”
“I’ll even give more money to the church.”

But sometimes we use good intentions to justify dangerous decisions.

That’s exactly what Lot did.

The Bible says he didn’t move straight into S***m overnight.

First… he just moved closer.

That’s how compromise usually works.

Nobody wakes up one morning planning to wreck their spiritual life.

It starts with small compromises. Small rationalizations. Small decisions we keep explaining away.

And we tell ourselves: “Well, God understands.” “At least I’m still giving.” “At least I’m still trying.”

But generosity doesn’t sanctify disobedience.

You cannot bribe your conscience with an offering plate.

God isn’t just after your money. He’s after your heart, your direction, and your obedience.

Because eventually, if you keep moving toward S***m… S***m stops feeling far away.

You know what’s wild?

A guy can look at a new opportunity and think: “The pay is better.” “The benefits are better.” “The future looks better.”

But there’s one problem.

If he takes that job… he’s going to be busy every single Sunday for the foreseeable future.

And suddenly the question becomes: “What am I actually building my life around?”

Because sometimes the enemy doesn’t destroy your faith through rebellion.

Sometimes he just slowly restructures your life until God only gets the leftovers.

No church. No worship. No consistent community. No time in God’s presence.

Just work. Pressure. Exhaustion. Repeat.

And the scary part? It can all look completely normal on paper.

Jesus said: “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?”

Success is a terrible trade if it costs you your spiritual life.

Ever notice how we keep going back to the things that wear us out?

11:45 PM Taco Bell. 2:13 AM regrets.

Late-night binge watching. "No more after tonight."

That habit. That compromise. That thing we swear we're done with...

And somehow we find ourselves right back there again. Why?

Because human nature has a strange tendency to return to things that drain us, exhaust us, and sometimes slowly destroy us.

The problem isn't always one massive life decision.

Sometimes it's the small patterns.

The repeated choices.

The habits we normalize.

Watch this clip and ask yourself:

👉 What keeps pulling me back?

If this encouraged you, follow for more biblical teaching on faith, culture, and walking with Jesus.

How do people drift spiritually?

Usually not all at once.

The enemy rarely destroys a life through one massive decision.

More often, compromise gets normalized.

A small turn. A subtle shift. A direction that feels blessed… even right.

And before long, you realize you’re miles away from where God was leading you.

Watch this clip and ask yourself:

👉 Am I still walking God's way — or have I slowly drifted?

If this encouraged or challenged you, follow for more biblical teaching on faith, culture, and walking with Jesus.
