It's Sock-tober again! And once again, we will be collecting socks all month in order to donate to the Helping Hands Clothing Closet at Central Lutheran Church. Socks are essential to keeping feet warm, dry, and healthy especially for those who spend much of their time on the winter streets. They can be used as mittens to keep hands warm too! Please bring donations to Immanuel and put them in the tote outside the church office.

Thanks to Paul Eckman for these photos from our lovely Taizé service two weeks ago. It was wonderful to have piano, flute, AND recorder adding to the richness of the sung music 🎶 !!

Today (Sept 22) we celebrate Native American Day, with recognition and thanksgiving for the heritage and ongoing contributions of Native American (including Alaska Native) culture in our church and in the wider world. We also recognize the ongoing discrimination and oppression of Native Americans and our call to work for justice and fuller inclusion for all children of God. Note: Rev. Irv Porter visited and spoke at our Presbytery meeting last October.

Ahead of Friday's observance of Native American Day, the Rev. Irvin Porter delivered a sermon during last week's online Chapel Service titled “Listening to Voices Long Silenced,” using Ephesians 4:1-6 and 14-16 as his preaching texts. Read more about the service here: https://hubs.ly/Q04xVtrQ0
