Three years later, we still remember.

Today our hearts are with the Israeli people and the families still grieving their loved ones.

We mourn with them.
We pray for healing.
We stand for peace.

Last Sunday, in our “What Does the Bible Say?” series, we talked about Israel.

Their story is a powerful reminder that even when God’s people wander, fail, and fall short, He remains faithful.

The same is true for us. Through Christ, we are met with mercy, forgiveness, and grace again and again.

There is so much to be grateful for today. 🤍

We got to celebrate lives made new through baptism—people publicly declaring their faith in Jesus and reminding us of the hope we have in the Gospel.

We also stepped into a difficult and important conversation about Israel, Scripture, and how Christians are called to think biblically in the middle of a complicated world.

Days like today remind us that the church is a place where we celebrate what God is doing, wrestle honestly with hard questions, and keep coming back to the truth of His Word.

We’re grateful for every person who joined us today. See you next Sunday, Mountain City!

Behind every Sunday are prayers, conversations, and quiet acts of love that many of us never see. ❤️

This Pastor Appreciation Month, we’re grateful for our pastors at Mountain City Church who care for people across generations and through every season of life.

From helping children know Jesus and guiding students, to encouraging families and caring for seniors—thank you. To those ministering in prisons, comforting the grieving, visiting the sick, and offering pastoral care when life feels heavy—thank you for reminding people they are seen, loved, and never forgotten.

Your ministry reaches far beyond a Sunday service. Through faithful teaching, patient listening, and countless prayers, you continue to point us to Jesus.

To our pastors and their families: we love you, we’re grateful for you, and we thank God for you.

Share a word of encouragement or a story of how a pastor has impacted your life in the comments! 👇

A loving God is a just God.

We live in a world that defines love as accepting everything and never saying no. But the Bible doesn't say love is God. It says God is love. That means we don't get to define it. He does.

And if God never judged evil, He wouldn't be loving. Ask anyone who has been the victim. They want justice.

There comes a point where love for what is good requires opposition to what is evil.

This is a hard truth, but it's good news too. The God who judges sin is the same God who took no pleasure in punishment and sent Jesus to die for us.

We’re so excited to officially welcome Joey Smith to the Mountain City Church staff! 🙌

Joey will be serving as our Junior High Youth Director, and we are incredibly grateful to have him joining our team and investing in the next generation.

We’re ecstatic for all that God is going to do through Joey as he leads, encourages, and disciples our junior high students.

Help us give Joey a huge Mountain City welcome! ❤️

Today we wrestled with a hard question: How can a loving God kill women and children?

It’s not an easy topic, but Scripture reminds us that God is loving, holy, just, merciful, and patient. Even when we don’t fully understand His judgment, we can trust His character.

We’re grateful you worshiped with us today. Have a great week, and we’ll see you next Sunday! 🙌

To our incredible Mountain City Church volunteers — thank you. 🤍

You are the hands that serve, the smiles that welcome, the voices that encourage, and the people who show up week after week to help make Mountain City feel like home.

Jesus calls us to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world — and we get to see that lived out through each of you. In the big moments and the small ones, your willingness to serve makes a difference far beyond what you may ever see.

Our Volunteer Appreciation Party was just one small way to celebrate the people who give so much of their time, energy, and hearts to serve others.

We are so grateful for you, Mountain City. Thank you for being salt. Thank you for being light. And thank you for helping us point people to Jesus. 🫶

We couldn’t do this without you.
