This Sunday is Belong Sunday, a special time to kick off the year together as a Newman community. After all Masses this Sunday, we invite all the freshmen to join us in the Portas Lounge for food, a group photo, meet new friends, and get to know all the ways you can get involved at the Newman Catholic Center. We have gifts for all our freshmen!

College is more than classes - it's a journey of friendship, faith, and purpose. Here at Newman, you'll find a place to encounter Christ, BELONG to a supportive community, and be sent out to make a difference in the world.

As we prepare to welcome our students back for a new academic year, we’re getting the house ready, not just for a new semester, but for another year of faith, friendship, fellowship, and unforgettable memories. ❤️🙏

We’ve added a little something special to our front patio! 💛🤍

Our new yellow and white picnic table umbrellas are now up, bringing the colors of the Vatican right to our patio! 🇻🇦 They add a beautiful touch of Catholic identity while making our outdoor space even more inviting for students to gather, study, eat, laugh, pray, and simply be themselves.

Because Newman is more than a place to attend Mass. It is a Home Away from Home. 🏡❤️

Whether you’re a returning student or stepping through our doors for the very first time, we can’t wait to welcome you. There’s a place for you here, a community waiting for you, and a whole lot of joy ahead!

We warmly congratulate our Newman alumni, Lorelei Hetzler and Michael Camara, who were united in Holy Matrimony last weekend. Michael is the son of our parishioners Massaborry and Christina Camara. This marks the third wedding of our alumni this summer. We pray that God blesses them as they embark on this lifelong journey of love filled with peace and joy.

“The greatest lesson about love isn't in a romantic film but on Calvary Hill. There, Jesus stretched His arms on the Cross, giving everything for those He loved. He didn't love because it was easy; He loved because love always seeks the good of others, even at great personal sacrifice. That is the love you are called to today.”

Congratulations to our Development Coordinator and Administrative Assistant, Paulina Ortiz Orive, on her wedding with the love of her life, Florian.

Paulina, an alumna of Newman, has always dedicated herself to giving back to the institution that nurtured her faith and personal growth since her graduation from UMASS last summer.

We sincerely pray that their love will flourish in unity, joy, and peace throughout their lives as husband and wife. Amen 🙏🏽

We are excited to share that our grant application for $1500 has been approved by the Diocese Beacon of Faith Capital Campaign for our Rush Week events in the first week of Fall Semester. This event will welcome new students to campus and raise awareness about the Newman Catholic Center at UMass.

The Beacon of Faith Capital Campaign was established with a vision to support among others, different ministries within the Diocese of Springfield. We are happy to be recipients of this initiative.
