Happy Commencement Weekend to all of our UMass graduates! 🎓

Last week Wednesday, we learned of the tragic loss of a UMass-Amherst employee, Emma. Her passing has brought deep sorrow and mourning to our community. In moments such as these, we are reminded of the fragility of life and of our need to turn to God, who is our refuge, strength, and source of hope. As Christians, the Gospel calls us to honor the dignity of every human life and to surround one another with compassion, prayer, and love.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Emma’s family, friends, colleagues, and to the entire UMass Amherst community. We pray that the Lord, rich in mercy, may welcome Emma into the fullness of His peace and grant comfort to all who grieve her loss.

In a spirit of faith and solidarity, we invite everyone to join us for a Mass celebrated in loving memory of Emma on Tuesday, 05/05 at 5:30pm. Together, we will pray for the repose of her soul, for healing for all those affected by this tragedy, and for the grace to support one another in charity and hope. May Christ, who conquered death and promises us eternal life, bring light in this time of darkness and peace to every troubled heart.
