LOT'S WIFE WASN'T TURNED INTO A PILLAR OF SALT!
What does the original Hebrew say?

She wasn’t TURNED into anything. She BECAME הָיָה
The word “hayah” means to accomplish and become.
It’s the same word Jehovah used when he said “I am that I am”

What else does the Hebrew tell us?

The word Ntsiyb נְצִיב is only interpreted as “pillar” once in the Bible- in the story of Lot’s wife. Every other time, it refers to high-ranking officers and military sentinels

And what about salt? מֶלַח

Melach is salt in Hebrew and sounds the same as Malak. The Bible was an oral tradition, not written down until much later, so this is what listeners heard. This is important because…
Malak means ANGEL!

And “look” (nabat נָבַט) means to behold with respect or care

So what happened to Lot’s wife?

She became a Guardian Angel!
BECAUSE she looked back.

Women in the Bible often represent those who live a higher, holier law. They show us that, like Nephi, sometimes rules are collective and not individual. When situations are precarious, generally it’s wise to leave. But some people may be called to action. Healed people, those who have been through the fire so to speak, may choose to look back with compassion on those still suffering.

This isn’t weakness. Its strength!

Lot’s wife wasn’t punished.
She became a ministering angel.
She represents courageous souls, uniquely qualified by divine grace to help those in need.
