St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church

St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church St. Paul (Blue Point) Lutheran Church is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and adheres to a liturgical, traditional service.

Families from northeastern Germany settled on farmland northeast of what would be the city of Altamont in the 1860s. Paul Lutheran Church in the Blue Point area was organized in 1865 with a church, parsonage, and cemetery. A constitution was adopted for the church in 1869. That same year the church voted for a Christian day school. The current church was built in 1879. The church used the old chur

ch building as the school until a new school was built in 1910. In 1962, the one-room school was divided into two classrooms. In 1989 the four Altamont Missouri Synod congregations joined to form the Altamont Lutheran Interparish School for K through eighth grades. The school continues today: http://www.altamontlis.com/index1.asp

The church also assists other organizations, such as the International Lutheran Hour Ministries and providing resources for students entering full time church ministries. Sunday School - 8:30 am
Divine Service - 9:30 am

Dear Sunday School Parents,

As has been our tradition here at Blue Point, Sunday School will continue through the summer, but with a few changes. We will begin at 8:30 in the classroom, combining all grades but preschool, instead of in the sanctuary. Preschoolers can be brought right to their classroom, and if you can, have them use the restroom before that, that would help their teacher immensely;-)

We encourage you to bring the children to Sunday school as often as possible through the summer, as we are going to be reading the second book in Katie Schuermann’s creed series together. We enjoyed the first one with the children last summer. These beautiful stories help us understand the Apostle’s Creed, and lead to lots of great discussion! We will also enjoy crafts, music, catechism memorization, snacks, and our new playground!

Donations of individually, packaged, cookies, crackers, or pretzels would be delightful. We are excited to spend time in the Word with your children again this summer!

Thank you,
Your Sunday School Staff

Hello Sunday School parents!

This Pentecost Sunday, May 24th, our Sunday School students, (except for the preschool class) will be sitting together as Sunday School with their teachers, in order to sing a hymn and do a recitation that they have been working hard on. You may collect the children after the service.

Thank you for faithfully bringing your children to Sunday School!
