Our History:

A young seminary graduate, Carl F. Schmid, was installed as a mission pastor in Albuquerque in 1914 and served until 1960. Pastor Kurt Brink served 1960-1982. Pastor Randy Walquist was installed in July 1983. God has richly blessed us under the guidance of these three men. With more than 2 million baptized members, the LCMS is the 11th largest church body in North America and enjoys fellowship with some 30 other Lutheran bodies worldwide. Immanuel is a Christ-centered, Bible-based family of believers whose greatest desire is to share the Good News of Jesus and His love with everyone we meet. We’d enjoy visiting with you personally and invite you to get to know us. To find out more, please call the church office or school or talk with a member.

IMMANUEL’S TENTH COMPASSION WEEKEND IS MAY 30–31: We’ll join with churches across the U.S. to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. This weekend, Mike & Donna King will share information about child sponsorship and invite you to sponsor a child living in poverty. Through sponsorship, a child receives the hope of the gospel and practical care for their right–now needs, such as medical care, nutrition support, protection, and education. Compassion Weekend can help break the cycle of poverty and change a child’s life forever. We’re called to step out in faith and be the change. This is a great opportunity to do just that. Compassion International shares the hope of the gospel in word and action, releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Join us in this mission.

The Alpha and the Omega, our Risen Lord, addresses The Seven Churches in Asia. With commendation and rebuke, they are called to repent and stand firm unto the day of Christ’s coming. This weekend, we learn about faithfulness and endurance as the local congregation; standing firm as part of Christ’s Church, we wait for Him with eager longing. Communion will be celebrated at all services this weekend.

Today we remember all our service men and women who fought for our freedom and never made it home. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13🙏

The eternal Word of God brings eternal life to all who receive it in faith. This weekend, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit to Christ’s Church. In the Spirit’s power, we are turned into powerful proclaimers of God’s truth for all people. In God’s own language, we proclaim the words of eternal life! Communion will be celebrated during the 10:45 AM Sunday service.
