The Hope Center will again be a host site for Toys for Tots this year. Last year the HC Toys for Tots donated over $10000 in books to Edwards County Schools and other schools and families. When most people think of Marine Toys for Tots, they think picture the millions of toys delivered to children in need on Christmas morning.

While that remains at the heart of our mission, we also know that a child's learning doesn't end when the school bell rings. Some of the most important reading happens beyond the classroom walls, when children have books of their own to explore at home.

That's where our Toys for Tots Literacy Program makes a difference. By providing children with books they can take home and call their own, we're helping them Turn the Page Toward Opportunity nurturing a love of reading that can shape their future.

A child who has books at home can practice reading, strengthen communication skills, expand their imagination, and build confidence-skills that can last a lifetime.

I've often said that by getting books into the hands of struggling students, we're helping children become their best selves. And I truly believe that. Every book represents an opportunity for a child to learn, grow, and dream bigger than their circumstances.

THANK YOU FROM THE HOPE CENTER

Yesterday’s Feed the Family was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together to serve others.

We had 10 different churches represented, all working side by side to help local families. And we were even blessed to have one special volunteer who came all the way from Germany to help serve!

What a powerful reminder that the Church isn’t a building—it’s the people. It’s people willing to roll up their sleeves, give their time, love their neighbors, and serve those who need a helping hand.

To every volunteer who gave their time, every church that sent people to serve, and everyone who helped make yesterday possible—THANK YOU! You were a blessing to so many families.

We don’t do this for recognition. We do it because we believe we are called to love God and love people.

Yesterday, we saw the Church in action.

To God be the glory for everything He allowed us to accomplish yesterday!
