Urgent prayer request from Superintendent Jen:

Dear Crossroads Conference Family,
Many of you have seen the reports of significant flooding affecting parts of northern and east-central Indiana. Please join me in praying especially for our churches that have been impacted, including Open Door Church (Noblesville), Park Place Community Church (New Castle), and Wesley Free Methodist Church (Anderson).

As these congregations assess damage, care for their members, and respond to the needs of their communities, let's pray that God would grant them wisdom, strength, and peace. Pray for the safety of families who have been affected, for those facing damage to their homes or property, and for the pastors and church leaders who are serving on the front lines during this time.

We'll continue to stay in contact with these churches and will communicate any specific needs as they arise.

Thank you for joining me in praying for our brothers and sisters across the Crossroads Conference. May the Lord protect them, strengthen them, and use His Church to reflect hope in their communities during these difficult days.

Blessings,

Supt. Jen

From The River Conference page:
“Join us as we pray for all affected by the Spokane area fires. As of [August 2, 12:00 p.m.], there have been over 600+ structures (homes, etc.) have been lost. Pray that God’s mercy and presence would be tangibly felt by all affected. Pray for the Church to rise up and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

“We know there are Free Methodist church members whose homes have been lost. This is especially impacting our communities at First Free Methodist Church, Spokane and Timberview Church in Mead. Opportunity Christian Fellowship is also in the region but further from the evacuation zone. As we gather updates from our local leaders in the next few days, we’ll share opportunities for your churches to help.

“Pray especially for these congregations and leaders who are both impacted by this tragedy and in a position to bring aid and hope:

- Spokane First Church led by Pastor Mia Shin
- Timberview Church led by Pastor Kenji Nitta
- Opportunity Christian Fellowship led by Pastor Daniel Bonney”

From August 4, 2026 – The River Conference page:
“Continue praying for the families in the path of these fires, for those who are displaced in the evacuation, for our faith communities at First Free Methodist Church, Spokane Timberview Church, and Opportunity Christian Fellowship, and for Supt. James Leman and his family who also are near the area of impact.”

Please lift all those impacted up in your prayers as at this time all three wildfires near the Spokane area are not contained.
