A five acre site on Byron Planation Road, given by Dr. C.R. Hodges, was chosen as a location for Christ UMC in 1979. Ten members were chosen from the fifty families who signed a commitment to comprise a "Steering Committee" with Larry Price as chairman. As God's Spirit worked in answer to prayers, the Church began to move with haste. Bi-monthly fellowship meetings were held along with prayer servi

ces and covered dish suppers. Deerfield Windsor private elementary school campus was used until church building was completed. Our "Constituting Service" was held on June 15, 1980. was appointed as pastor and 132 adults stepped forward with him to bring this church into existence. On August 20, 2022, the South Georgia Conference of the UMC voted and approved to accept the church’s request to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church, due to the departure of much of the leadership of the UMC from core traditional teachings of Scripture. On this day Christ Church of Albany was created. Douglas: "The flame has been removed from the outside, but it lives on on the inside. Christ UMC is now officially Christ Church of Albany, where we proclaim Jesus as the risen Son of God who took our sins to the cross." Bible verse: A New Creation / 2 Cor. 5:17

Parents, we would love for your children to join us for a fun and faith-filled time at VBS!

📅 Dates: June 23, 24, & 25 (Tuesday, Wed., Thursday)
⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM (Supper will be provided)

Each evening will be filled with exciting activities, music, crafts, games, and Bible lessons designed just for kids. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your child to grow in faith, make new friends, and have a blast in a safe and welcoming environment.

Make plans now and invite a friend—we can’t wait to see your kids there!

✨ What a Wonderful Week at Christ Church of Albany! ✨

This week has been filled with blessings, joy, and reasons to celebrate!

We were honored to celebrate Pastor Ronnie and Ellen’s first anniversary at CCOA. We are so grateful for their faithful leadership, love for our church family, and commitment to sharing the Gospel.

We also had an amazing time at our Art Camp & Explosion of Worship! 🎨🎶 Twenty-one children joined us for a day full of fun, creativity, worship, pottery, and learning about David’s faith and courage. A special thank you to our 15 incredible volunteers who gave their time, talents, and hearts to make the day such a success!

God is doing wonderful things at CCOA, and we can’t wait to see what He has in store for us in the week ahead.

Join us this Sunday for worship at 11:00 AM as we continue to grow in faith, fellowship, and service together!

ART CAMP IS ONLY 1 WEEK AWAY! It's not to late to sign up! Bring your kids; grandkids, neighbors, and friends. The fun starts next Wednesday, June 3rd from 9am to 12:30pm.
