Church has become more of a competition than ministry. The goal is to see how many members you can accumulate. The strategy is to make church look less like church and more like a social club. More lights, more cameras, more action and less God. The Pastor who can formulate his words more eloquently is perceived as the elite of God. This is a well orchestrated strategy to sell you an idea of God without the true spirit of God. Prosperity teachings rule the airwaves partner by sermons concerning your haters. No teachings on hell or sin because that’s not attractive and definitely not a seat filler. The idea is to make you feel OK in your sins and that God will accept you without a lifestyle change. Don’t be drawn by this strategy. Let the truth of God‘s word attract you. If your life is displayed from the pulpit, that means God is speaking directly to you. It is conviction not offense. A true pastor studies day and night for a convicting word from God not an appealing word to attract your flesh. He is soul driven not seat driven. He identifies ministry success with true salvation rather than a false imitation. God was found in the cave with David not in the palace with Saul. Exhaust your efforts to find where God lives not where the idea of him lives. !
