Friday is Freedom Day! The office at the First Church will be closed for the holiday. If you are not familiar with the history of Juneteenth, look it up! In a world where communications are instant, it is hard to fathom a time when it took two years (!) for word of the Emancipation Proclamation to reach Galveston, TX. This freed the last 250,000 enslaved people in the US. The city of Albany will be celebrating on Saturday, June 20 with a parade and festival. https://cdymca.org/events/african-heritage-parade

🌭HOT DOGS IN CLEE PARK!!! 🌭
We are back, so it must be summer☀️. Join us each Wednesday from 11:30am-1pm in Clee Park next to our church. Dogs, all the fixings, fruit, beverages and frozen treats - free! All are welcome. We love to share lunch with our neighbors - even you day-neighbors who work downtown! Don't miss the fun and yummy food!
