This Sunday, we will be looking at the topic; how was the Bible put together. The Christian faith is based on the Person of Jesus Christ and the Bible, both are subject to being attacked by the enemy and the world. We need to be able to understand how the Bible was put together, so we can defend the Bible when people asked us why we believe it and trust it. We are often deep on the what we believe, but shallow on why we believe it, so we are striving to deepen the why of what we believe as a Child of God.

This Sunday, we will continue our study in Systematic Theology, we are learning the why of what we believe as a Child of God, the why of what we believe is very important, often we are deep on what we believe and shallow on why we believe it. This week's question is Can we trust the Bible? We will be looking at three ways we can defend the trustworthiness of the Bible, that being manuscript history, archaeology and fulfilled prophecies. There is plenty of evidence for us to use when we defend the Bible or answer the question why do you trust the Bible, we just need to learn the evidence and prepare beforehand and then we will be able to make a strong defense of why we trust the Bible.

This Sunday, I felt led to begin a study in Systematic Theology, our study begins with the question does God exist? Most church going people would quickly say yes He does, but can that same person give evidence to support their claim that God does exist? We will be looking at three pieces of evidence that God does exist, one creation evidence, two moral law and three the Person of Jesus Christ. In order to give answers to those who ask or challenge our faith, we must have a deeper understanding of what we believe and why we believe it.

This Sunday, we will be looking at the important subject of honor and respect, it seems in today's culture honor and respect have been lost, too many people are offended at anything and ashamed of nothing. As a Child of God, born of the Spirit and washed in the Blood, its our duty to honor and respect the Lord, we should model honor and respect to others as we engage our world. We need to measure our words before we speak and measure our actions before we do them, and ask yourself do my words and action show honor and respect, remember both God and the world is watching.

In Sunday's message to the church, I want to share about growing weary, doing good and not giving up, we live in a world that can wear us down and wear us out, so we must resist growing weary and renew our minds and hearts with spending time with the Lord and people of faith, who have a positive view on life. As a Child of God we should do good, when we go out in the world, do we look for opportunities to be a blessing to someone else and then we will look at not giving up. Giving up is easy and common, but Christ did not give up on us and we should not give up in our walk of faith.

On Sunday, we will be looking at the Book of Hosea, where God tells the prophet to marry a unfaithful woman, as Hosea's wife commits sexual adultery, the land of Israel commits spiritual adultery toward God. It broke Hosea's heart when his wife chased after other men and it broke God's heart when His chosen people chased after false gods. Often we hear only of God's wrath on sin, but when people choose sin over God, it breaks the heart of God. Hosea would later have to buy back his unfaithful wife on the auction block, a type and shadow of what Christ has done for us, with His own blood Christ has bought us, redeemed us, paid our sin debt. May we be faithful to our God till the day we see Him face to face.

On Sunday, we will have Billy Rice from the Children's Home with us, we are looking forward to seeing him, we will have a short message to go along with Billy's presentation on the important ministry being done in Wytheville. I will be sharing about watching, being brave, standing fast in faith, being strong and doing everything we do in an attitude of love. We need to be watchful in our day, we need to have a strong faith in God that will stand up to whatever comes our way, being brave in uncertain times and being strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and letting love direct our path in what we say or do.

This Sunday, we will be looking at Psalm 46, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, this promise only belongs to a child of God. We must know God and have Him in our hearts before we can claim His promises, we need to know His Word to claim His promises to us. The thought came to me about the tragedy of unclaimed promises and dusty Bibles, we need to be in God's Word and claim as one of His, the promises He has given to us. Unclaimed promises and dusty Bibles will leave us weak and living like the world, God has called us to a higher calling, to know Him and claim His promises and live in victory.

The Easter message will focus on Jesus forgiving from the cross those who crucified Him, Jesus was and is the most awesome Person who ever walked on the earth. He taught forgiving others and He practiced it perfectly, forgiveness is wonderful, reconciliation is awesome, forgiveness depends upon the heart of the giver, not on the worthiness of the person being forgiven. Jesus sets the standard on forgiving others, may we follow His perfect example in our forgiving others.
