"Sojourn in this land and I will be with you and bless you"
- Gen. 26:3
The patriarchs of our faith often used to the term 'sojourn' when they came to a place, no matter how long they lived there. The term means to dwell for a time or live in a place as a temporary resident, as a stranger in a foreign land. They never considered the place their permanent habitation, but were always mindful their home was the city whose Builder and Maker is God. There is the mindset of a true Christian! This community, town, city, state, nation or world is not our home. We truly are just 'passing through' and should live our lives for eternity with Jesus, not for the most time in this world.
