Last weekend (22–23 Aug), in celebration of Catholic Education Sunday, our parish hosted Marymount Convent School at the Saturday Sunset Mass and the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus Primary and Secondary at the 9.30am Mass.

We were happy to have their students sing in the choir, proclaim the readings and serve as hospitality ministers.

We thank God for the gift of Catholic education, which offers to our young people an encounter with Christ and forms them in Gospel values, raising saints for God’s Kingdom 😇

Today (25 Aug), on the feast of St Joseph Calasanz, universal patron of all Catholic schools, we pray that our Catholic schools will always remain true to their mission. St Joseph Calasanz, pray for us! 🙏

Today, on 25 July 2026, our parish gathered for the 11:00 AM Mass for the Sick & Elderly, where many of our brothers and sisters received the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

We were deeply blessed to be joined by several visiting priests and priest friends, who concelebrated the Eucharist and ministered the sacrament alongside our parish clergy. Their presence was a beautiful reminder of the unity of the Church and Christ's loving care for His people.

Through the healing grace of the Eucharist and the Anointing of the Sick, we prayed for all who are ill, elderly, and homebound—that they may experience God's comforting presence, strength in their suffering, and peace in their hearts. May they be reminded that they are never alone, for Christ, the Divine Physician, walks with them always.

Let us continue to keep all the sick, the elderly, their caregivers, and healthcare workers in our prayers, entrusting them to the loving intercession of Our Lady, Health of the Sick.

On 20 July 2026, members of our parish community gathered at the Church of the Holy Spirit Auditorium for a memorable night of football, fellowship and shared excitement as we stayed up together to watch the World Cup.

The auditorium was alive with energy as parishioners cheered, laughed and enjoyed the match together. One of our generous community members also served coffee throughout the night, helping everyone stay awake and adding a warm, welcoming touch to the gathering.

Our priests joined in the fun as well, mingling with parishioners, sharing conversations and staying to watch the match with the community. Their presence made the evening feel even more special and reflected the strong sense of closeness within our parish family.

More than just a football screening, the night became a joyful opportunity for people of different ages to come together, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories. With every exciting moment of the match came cheers, friendly banter and plenty of laughter.

As the hours passed, we became so caught up in the excitement and good company that morning arrived before we knew it.

It was a simple yet meaningful gathering that reminded us of the beauty of parish life: coming together not only in prayer, but also in moments of friendship, celebration and shared joy. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the night such a memorable one.

On 27 June 2026, Fr Marcus celebrated Mass, during which our altar servers were commissioned for their ministry.

It was a joyful and grace-filled occasion as we gave thanks for our altar servers and their generous “yes” to serving at the altar of the Lord. Through their ministry, they assist in the sacred celebration of the Mass and help lead the community into deeper prayer, reverence, and love for the Eucharist.

St John Berchmans, patron saint of altar servers, once said, “If I do not become a saint when I am young, I shall never become one.”

May our altar servers continue to grow in holiness, humility, and devotion as they serve God and His Church faithfully. May their ministry draw them ever closer to Christ and inspire others to serve with the same joyful heart.

A shepherd, a mentor, and a faithful servant of Christ.

Fr. Paul Staes has been called home to be with the Lord on 24 June 2026. We give thanks for his years of devoted service, his witness of faith, and the countless lives he touched.

Please keep him and his loved ones in your prayers as we gather to celebrate his life and commend him to God’s eternal embrace.

On 2 June 2026, our parish community rejoiced as Fr Marcus celebrated his First Mass, surrounded by a great multitude of priests, family, friends, and parishioners.

It was a deeply emotional and beautiful occasion as we witnessed the beginning of his priestly ministry at the altar of the Lord. In his homily, Fr Marcus reminded us that the focus was not on himself, but on Christ, the true High Priest, the source of every vocation, and the heart of the Eucharist.

It was especially fitting that this celebration took place in the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In the priesthood, we see the love of Christ made visible in a powerful way. Through His priests, the Heart of Jesus continues to pour out mercy, compassion, forgiveness, and love upon His people.

After Mass, Fr Marcus also shared his journey with his priestly brothers, giving thanks for the many ways God had guided, formed, and sustained him along the way. Many parishioners also had the joy of receiving his first priestly blessing, a grace-filled moment that reminded us of the beauty of the priesthood and the gift of Christ working through His priests.

The celebration continued with a wonderful time of fellowship, where the community gathered in joy, thanksgiving, and love. It was truly a blessed evening, filled with prayer, gratitude, and the warmth of a parish family coming together to celebrate God’s faithfulness.

May the Lord continue to bless Fr Marcus in his priestly ministry. May his life and vocation always point others to Christ, and may his priesthood be a living sign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, burning with love for God and His people.

On 24 May 2026, we joyfully celebrated the Feast of Pentecost, a day that reminds us of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the birth of the Church’s mission to proclaim Christ to the world.

We were blessed to have Monsignor Stephen Yim celebrate the Mass for us on this special feast day. As one parish family, we gathered in prayer and thanksgiving, asking the Holy Spirit to renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and set us on fire with His love.

Pentecost is especially meaningful for us as the Church of the Holy Spirit. It reminds us of who we are called to be: “A community led by the Holy Spirit to serve all and to make Jesus known.” It also invites us to live out our parish mission, “To form loving disciples empowered by the Holy Spirit.”

As we celebrated this great feast, may we continue to open our hearts to the gifts of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to guide our parish community in faith, service, and joyful witness. May we be renewed as disciples who encounter Christ deeply, love generously, and go forth to share His presence with others.

“Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.”

May the fire of Pentecost continue to burn brightly in our parish, leading us to worship, to serve, and to make Jesus known.
