Sancti Petri et Pauli Choir - SPP Choir Recovering the sung traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and her liturgies - for the Glorification of God and the Sanctification of Man (cf. SC 7) Wedding

09/06/2026

"O sacred feast, in which we partake of Christ: his sufferings are remembered, our minds are filled with his grace and we receive a pledge of the glory that is to be ours, alleluia."
(Magnificat Antiphon, Second Vespers of Corpus Christi)

The Body and Blood of Christ perfectly begins our extraordinary celebrations of Ordinary Time! Our spiritual renewal receiving the Lord Jesus in the flesh shall draw us closer to the mysteries of our Lord, deepening our relationship and communion with Him each passing week.

And with the liturgical celebration we serve, it is always a privilege to support the annual Eucharistic Procession with our sung praises!

💛 May God increase in us our love, our belief, our fervour for the Most Holy Body and Blood of His Son.

🤍 The Perfect Sacrifice has become for us the Perfect Gift.
He is with us, and He dwells in us. There’s nothing beyond compare that can replace such nourishment for the soul, body and mind!

This is why we choose to worship wholeheartedly, today and for all eternity!

What will your response be as the Universal Church has her singular focus on the True Presence of Jesus Christ?

💛 Jesus, “Feed us still, still keep us thine, so that we may see thy glories shine in the fields of immortality!” (cf. Sequence ‘Lauda Sion’)

"I will thank you, Lord, with all my heart,
for you have heard the words of my mouth."
(Psalm 137: 1)

🎼 Fostering the human connection with things divine comes in many ways. Music has always been one of those mediums that excites, inspires and enables. And it is the first instrument – our voice – that uniquely elevates the mysteries of the divine beyond any other instrument!

Our Day of Recollection for 2026 brought us together with an experience through beauty and a sense of readiness for evangelisation!

❤️ Uncovering the brilliance of composition renewed us with unwavering and deep devotion to God – in the same like manner of liturgical composers who upheld our faith's traditions!
❤️ Understanding music's progression over-time revealed new perspectives of unity in diversity across communities, led by the same Spirit in worship!
and
❤️ Unpacking thoughts on the liturgical functions of a choir, with a missionary heart, to uplift souls for the glory of God!

With endless treasures of Sacred Music, may it be for all of us a joy to give thanks to God, serve him humbly, and be our glory to praise Him without end!

❤️ 🕊️ 50 Days Later…
after the Resurrection of our Lord at Easter, we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit with the Solemnity of Pentecost!

The Holy Spirit is the Gift par excellence, the bond and pledge of the mutual love of the Father and the Son. Invisible in our midst, yet fully alive within us, the “Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought” (cf. Romans 8: 25). Christ, in reference to the Holy Spirit, says: “rivers of living water will flow from within him who believes in Me” (cf. John 7: 38).

Perhaps on this feast day, let us as one Church ponder the extent to which we have been steadfast in prayer, recollected, submissive and alert to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

🤍 May the Spirit be our comforter and guide, through our ministerial works, to foster a deeper relationship with the One Holy Triune God.
Amen!

Veni, Creator Spiritus, mentes tuorum visita,
Imple superna gratia, quae tu creasti pectora.

Come Holy Spirit, Creator Blest, and in our hearts take up Thy rest,
Come with Thy grace and Heavenly aid, to fill the hearts which Thou has made.

💛 This Vocation Sunday, we celebrate Eugenia-John Teresa-Maria's powerful Testimony upon being baptised into the Catholic Church!

👉🏻 Read the FULL Testimony here: https://sppchoir.wordpress.com/2026/04/19/testimony-charis-2026/ 👈🏻

"I started out as a Protestant with a relatively stable spiritual life. As someone deathly afraid of spiritual sloth and negligence, hearing my friends in cell group share about their inability to set time aside for God daily made me extremely worried that I would eventually fall into the same experience.

I was introduced to daily Mass by a Catholic friend. Upon learning that the Eucharist was truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ—which I somehow immediately accepted—I made the resolution to go for Mass every single day to meet our Lord.

To connect with God throughout the day and pray better, I was introduced to Catholic prayers like the Rosary, litanies, chaplets, devotions, etc.

Alongside pursuing a deeper interior life, I found Carmelite spirituality exceptionally close to my heart. The question of vocation eventually emerged, and I developed a desire for consecrated life, but only after being baptised through RCIA.

Throughout my preparation, I was privileged to join more Catholic groups like NUS Legion of Mary, SPP Choir, “NUSCarmel", have an SD etc. Having sung for over 14 years, I was always somehow gravitated to the less “interesting” Latin hymns and chants in the choral repertoire, so it has been a pleasure to have my interests more integrated into my spiritual life.

I reckon many expect me to feel that “flame of fervour” of newness, but having been involved in the Church quite a fair bit, I strangely feel no difference exteriorly. Interiorly, however, there is now a deep joy in being able to actually receive our Lord at the Masses I go for, to rest in the gentle love of God that carried me through this journey and beyond, to see that one pair of footprints in the sand that belong to Him, and to live more truly in His grace in every moment of my life."

"A man can have no greater love than to lay down his life for his friends." (John 15: 13)

💛 As this season renews our spiritual life in Christ, our Risen Lord, so too is our humble ministry renewed!

🎼 Supporting the liturgy with sacred music takes more than just a single individual; and that includes teams in leadership roles. These few weeks of Eastertide, therefore, presents a unique opportunity for some of our fellow choristers to serve in new ways, some beyond comfort zones, while offering back their talents for worship of our Lord Jesus Christ.

May our ministerial work foster moments of servant leadership, that we may walk with Christ the true Shepherd!

Did you know this unique hymn, popularly metered with a hymn tune of the same name, began as an ancient Roman chant?

We rejoice with Mother Church as she celebrates our Lord's Resurrection. And in doing so, rediscover that same happiness, joy and praise of the Mother of our Lord!

🕯️ "The disciples entered the tomb, saw and believed."
❤️ "Happy are those who have not seen, and yet believe."
(cf. John 20: 8-9)

The centre of our Christian faith, is the Resurrection of the Lord!

It is the empty tomb that confirms what we the Lord has taught his disciples. We too are witnesses of this truth that has been handed to us in our faith!
The Lord has overcome sin and death; we rejoice that God has truly come to save us and will help us overcome our weaknesses and faults.

Our observances in Lent and Holy Week have prepared us for this day - made by the Lord!
Celebrations and experiences of Holy Darkness with and the rich traditions of our Holy Week and Triduum liturgies have invigorated in us, once again, a divine appreciation for our Lord's Passion and Paschal mysteries.
Therefore, let us celebrate with great joy and bear witness to eternal Salvation!

💛 And to you and your loved ones, from all of us at , may the hope and joy of the Resurrection fill your hearts with renewed spirit and peace!
